I walked back in the front door and was immediately greeted by a blur of white paws jumping up my leg. Pinkly barked happily and begged for attention as I placed my car keys onto a hook beside the door. Once the keys were placed safely on the hook, I turned around and picked up Pinkly, allowing her to lick my face multiple times before placing her back down and heading toward the kitchen. Pinkly followed closely behind, practically tripping me over my feet as I headed toward the fridge to grab an energy drink.

"Alright, we're going in a minute." I told Pinkly as I opened up the can and took a large swig. Pinkly sat down patiently and stared at me with beady eyes.

I drank about half of my energy drink before deciding that I'd drink the rest as I walked the dog. As soon as I moved, Pinkly got up and ran through the house manically. She boomeranged herself back and fourth as I made my way toward the closet where her lead was kept.

Once her harness was secure, we headed out down the street toward the park. We spent a good twenty minutes at the park before I made the decision to turn around and head back home. As I walked back up the street, I decided that I'd just take Pinkly with me over to Val's since there was really no point in taking her home - not only that but Matt had a dog as well, and I was secretly hoping that her and Pinkly would play and tire themselves out; for such a small dog, Pinkly had boundless energy.

I made my way in through the front gate and proceed up the path before knocking on the front door.

Val opened it a second later, a bright smile across her face.

"Hey! Matt said you might pop over. Come in." She greeted, waving me in as she stood back. As soon as Pinkly walked through the front door, Val stooped to pick her up before fussing over her. Pinkly lapped up the attention until she heard Bella (Matt's dog) running down the hallway and then she squirmed in her arms, wanting to get free. Val put her down and slid the harness from her tiny body before handing it to me.

"Thanks." I said, watching as Pinkly immediately shot over to Bella before proceeding to dart off in a different direction in hope of a game of chase. I laughed and shook my head before turning and placing her lead on top of the drawers beside the door.

"Do you want a coffee or..." Val paused, a sly smile spreading across her face, "something stronger?"

"You know what, I could do with something stronger." I admitted. The pair of us laughed before I followed Val down the hall and into the kitchen.

Matt and Val had a beautiful kitchen. It was decorated in white marble with a shimmering floor and matching walls. The black kitchen cabinets contrasted well against the white floor, and helped to dull the room down to a more substantial level. Val made her way over to a clear front cabinet that had been designed specifically for the use of holding wines bottles. She picked one out before proceeding to pour the deep red liquid into two wines glasses that she'd grabbed from an overhead cabinet.

"Here you go." Val said, turning around to hand me the glass with a smile. "Do you want to sit in here or the living room?"

"Living room; your couch is nice and comfy: perfect for chatting." I answered with a small wink.

Val laughed and nodded. "Alright, come on."

Their living room had a similar colour theme to the kitchen. They're house was practically spotless. It put mine and Brian's to shame. We'd gone for a more homey feel to our house whereas Val and Matt had gone for the Wow Factor - and they'd got it.

As the pair of us sat down, Pinkly and Bella came hurtling into the room before sliding round the couch and back out into the conservatory that led out toward the pool.
