Chapter 3 Friends & Explanations Part 1

*Your POV*

I woke up an hour after I fell alseep. Checking my clock, I saw it was 5:46 am. I sighed. Obviously I can't go back to sleep. I had to get up soon. With that in mind, I sat up and looked around my room. My t.v. was still on, my things were still on the ground, and it was dark outside. I turned my lamp on and made my way to my closet. After picking a Of Mice & Men long sleeve shirt and some black skinny jeans, I put on socks and shoes. I did my hair and makeup, as usual, then watched some t.v. When I checked the time, it was 6:52 am and a little light was shinning through my window curtains. So I went down stairs to get something to eat. School started at 8:15 but I thought about getting out of the house early today. I poured a small bowl of cereal and grabbed the milk from the fridge. As I was pouring it in the bowl I heard footsteps behind me. I stopped pouring the milk and looked over my shoulder to see my mom coming down the stairs.

Mom: (Y/n)? What are you doing up so early?

You: Its 7:00 mom.

She looked at the clock and her eyes went wide.

Mom: I need to get ready for work!

She went back up the stairs in a rush. I was guessing her alarm didn't go off. She was usually up by now. I shrugged and left the kitchen to eat in my room. When I was done eating, I made sure I had everything I needed for school. When I saw that I did, I left the house. It was only 7:40, but the walk to school took 20 minutes. So I'd have some extra time when I got there. I kind of wanted to get the day over and done with. I didn't want to run into Shannon or Jordan, but I knew I would so I shrugged it off. As I walked to school I saw the school bus headed down my street and towards my house. I thought nothing of it and continued on my way until I noticed something, the bus stopped. I looked behind me and watched none other than Jordan walk off the bus and wave to the people in it. When he saw me, he smiled brightly and headed my way.

You: (Walking away is considered rude, right?)
I pushed the thought away because now, Jordan stood in front of me.

Jordan: I'm surprised your walking today. You didn't want a ride?

You: Actually, I woke up early. So I decided to walk...

Jordan: Well now you have company.

He smiled happily and Shannons words ran through my head. I decided to ignore them though.

You: Awesome..

I gave a fake smile and we started walking. He did most of the talking again. I think he just liked speaking in general. He always seemed so happy and upbeat around people too. It made me wonder if he was like that around his family. But soon I realized something. We knew nothing of each others home life. We only knew about each others school life and little facts about one another. Its not like that was a bad thing. It was just odd to me. I had been zoning out until he stopped. I looked around and saw we were almost there. So, why would he stop? I looked up to find him looking at me.

You: What?
I asked clueless.

Jordan: You don't talk very much.

You: Sorry...

Jordan: Its not a bad thing. I'm just kind of curious on why. Your hard to figure out because of the walls you try to keep up. But little do you know, I've gotten you to tell me a little about yourself.

His words swirled in my mind. Then I realized, I broke my rule. My number one rule, don't talk to anyone, was broken. I let him into my life.
