Chapter 4

*Your POV*

I woke up and yawned. I was asleep for an hour. Which was good because that meant I'd be able to get some sleep later. I grabbed my phone from my pocket and a piece of paper fell from it. I picked it up and examined it. It was Alex's number. I had already forgotten about what she told me earlier. I decided to text her. When I opened my messaging app, I noticed a lot of messages from people at my old school. I didn't want to deal with that right now. So I typed in her number and sent her a simple "hi." All there was to do now, was wait. But, I was kinda hungry. I decided to see if my mom was home yet. Rushing down the stairs, I noticed it didn't sound like anyone was around.

You: Mom?
I called out.

There was no reply. I was guessing she was still at work. I texted her asking when she'd be home. She responded shortly after letting me know she'd be home around 6. She also said just to order a pizza for dinner. So, I did. The pizza guy said it would take about 20 minutes, so I sat in the living room and waited. I was bored. There was nothing to do, and no one to talk to. Alex hadn't replied yet either, meaning she must be busy. Unless she all the sudden she decided I was annoying and wanted nothing to do with me... I pushed thoughts like that away. Being alone by myself was hard. Thoughts came easily. Too easily. So, I decided to text Jordan. I hadn't done so yet and thought it'd be good to get things off my mind. Surprisingly, he made me happy. School was like an escape for me. Because there, I had Jordan to take my mind off things. Of course, I had others too, like Ben and Alex, but I hung out with Jordan more. Instead of him texting me back, he called.

-Phone Convo-

You: Hello?

Jordan: You finally texted me! Now I can bug you when I want.

Y: I never said you could do that!

J: Who said I needed permission?

We both laughed.

Y: I did, obviously.

J: Hmm... I still say I don't need permission.

Y: And I still say you do.

He gave a small laugh and continued.
J: So, what are you up to?

Y: I'm waiting on a pizza guy. What about you?

J: Lucky. I'm playing Mario Cart 7.

Y: You're luckier than I am!

J: I didn't know you were into video games.

Y: Only a little bit, but Mario Cart is one of my favorites. But, how are you playing and on the phone at the same time? Wouldn't that be hard to focus?

J: Don't be silly. Your on speaker.

Y: Oh. (I didn't take that into consideration...) But, I don't hear a t.v.

J: I turned down the volume so I could hear you. Your pretty voice doesn't need to be interrupted by games.

Y: Wait, what? (Did he just say my voice was pretty?)

J: I said your voice doesn't need to be interrupted by games.

Y: Oh. Ok. I thought I heard differently. Sorry. (I guess I was imaging things.)

J: Its alright. Hey, maybe when your pizza gets to your house you can come over. My parents are on a business trip so I have the whole house to myself. We can play video games.
