-Mom?-

Jamie
As we turned to our street, I saw red and blue flashing lights down the road. Ashton and I looked at each case other and started to run. There was an ambulance and a police car parked up in front of my house. I gasped. What happened? I ran inside my house with Ashton. I saw Matt sitting on the dining table with 2 police men standing in front of him. They looked at me. Matt's eyes were all puffy as tears were running down his cheeks.
"Where's mom?"
I asked as Matt covered his mouth wiping the tears away. He tried to speak but couldn't. My eyes started to water. One of the police men spoke.
"Ma'am, you're mom and brother here got into a car accident, Matt here was...the only one to...survive"
He said as I covered my mouth bursting into tears. Ashton pulled me in for a hug. I cried in his shoulders. I heard him cry as well. His parents died too. I'm sorry Ash.

Matt
After one of the police men said the truth to Jamie, it broke my heart seeing her cry. Ashton pulled her in for a hug. I stood up and nodded at the police men.
"Thank you officers"
I said as I wiped a few tears. They nodded and made their way out of the house. I walked over to Jamie making her pull off of Ashton and hug me. I hugged her making my head rest on the top of her head. I cried my eyes out hearing Jamie cry.
"Why? Mom? Why"
She cried as I held my hand on her head crying.
"I'm sorry Jamie, I'm sorry"
I said as I hugged her tighter.

Jamie
I was sitting on the couch with my eyes all puffy and red. Ashton sat down next to me placing a plate with my Mac and cheese on it and a glass of water. He looked at me.
"Jamie it's time for dinner"
He said in a quiet and calm voice. I didn't make eye contact with him. I was stuck staring at the dish, no saying a word.
"Jamie, I'm sorry for what happened to you"
He said as I looked down at my lap and wiped my last few tears. I looked at him.
"It's not your fault, thanks for my plate Ash"
I said as he nodded and wrapped his arm around me giving me a side hug.
"Best for you to eat, to get your mind straight"
He said as I nodded. I looked at Ashton seeing him still crying.
"I'm sorry Ashton...about your parents"
I said as he looked at me. Matt walked into the living room sitting on the other side of me.
"Looks like it's just me and you Jamie"
Matt said as I looked at him. He wrapped his arm around me.
"I guess so"
I said as I looked down at my lap.
I looked at Ashton.
"Wait where are you going to stay now?"
I asked him as he shrugged.
"Dude you can stay with us, just as a friend not a new brother"
Matt said as Ashton smiled.
"Thanks guys"
He said as I smiled.
"No problem, you can stay in my room, I'll move all my things into mom's room"
I said as Matt nodded.
"So for tonight, you can share a bunk with Me"
Matt said as Ashton nodded. He stood up.
"Let's go get my things from my house first"
He said S Matt nodded. Matt stood up and kissed my forehead.
"Be back ok"
He said as I nodded.

I was laying in my bed looking up at the ceiling. I prayed.

"Lord, I know my mother is there so I'd like to say this to her.
Mom as you may have just seen earlier, I was bursting into tears as soon as I heard you pass on. I thought I would still see you when I'm a grown up adult. I cried so many times thinking that, you won't be able to be there at my graduation, you won't be there at my wedding, you won't be there for any of mine or Matt's birthday parties. You won't be there when I have my first child. But then I thought, I know you would be everywhere I am, although the I can't see you, you can see me. I still feel your presence around this house or wherever I go. And I hope it stays that way. When I am in trouble, help me find a way, when I am lost, guide me, and when I forget you...wait...no I will never forget you because...I love you mom. Always and forever. So please guide me through a good life just like you had when I was around. You were the greatest mom any kid has ever had. I love you, I miss you and I forgive you. I know you would have said 'I'm sorry' that you left this world a bit early so I forgive you mom"

I ended my prayer and closed my eyes and fallen asleep.
