Change

-Skipping School-

Jamie
I work up at 9:30pm. Matt said I could skip school today so I could get used to mom not being around just a bit. I jumped off my bed and scratched my head. I looked around my room. I tied my hair up in a pony tail. I walked over to the curtains and took them out. Since Ashton is going to be living with us I might as well start packing my stuff to go into mom's room.

Ashton
I woke up as soon as I heard a scream. I stood up from the floor. Matt sat up and looked at me.
"Jamie!"
We said at the same time as we got up and ran out the door and entered her room. She was on the ground holding her wrist. There was a long cut across her wrist. Blood dripped onto the floor making her grunt in pain. I saw a broken case on the floor. I ran over to her and helped her up onto the bed. Matt cleaned up the mess on the floor. I held her wrist.
"Oh jeez"
I said as her nodded. Matt came running into the room with a first aid kit. He placed it on the bed and opened it up. He pulled out a bandage wrap and wrapped it around her wrist. Then he taped the ends. I looked around the room seeing it was all empty. Everything that was hers was gone, it looked like we were just moving in. The empty bed was still here and the dresser. I looked at Jamie.
"Are all your things in your mom's room?"
I asked her as she nodded. I smiled.
"I'll go get my things and unpack"
I said as she nodded.

Jamie
It was 12:00pm, me, Matt and Ashton were just eating lunch. We were eating oatmeal. I saw Matt playing with his food. I looked at him.
"Matt come on, stop playing with your food."
I said as Ashton chuckled.
"Yea Matt"
Ashton said as I rolled my eyes smiling. Then Matt glared at Ashton. He lifted his spoon up with oatmeal on it then he pointed it at Ashton. Ashton was looking down at his bowl taking scoops of oatmeal into his mouth. Matt smirked then flung the oatmeal towards Ashton making it all land all over his head. I covered my mouth from laughing. Ashton blew a piece of his hair up from his eye. Then he glared at Matt. I giggled.
"Ok ok, please don't start a food battle"
I said as they laughed. Ashton held his bowl up.
"Hey he started it"
Ashton said as he poured the bowl on top of Matt causing all the oatmeal to spill all over his head and shoulders and some on the floor. I gasped. I stood up.
"Ok, you guys have a lot of cleaning to do, if you guys in me, I'll be in my room"
I said as Matt scooped up a handful of oatmeal and slapped it right onto Ashton's face. I quickly ran towards the stairs.

I was in my room listening to Photograph by Ed Sheeran. I mouthed along the lyrics. I smiled. I looked around my new room. I smiled seeing picture frames hanging on the wall with me, mom and Matt. pictures of me and mom were mostly hanging to the wall. I started to cry tear.

I sang as I wiped my tear away. I walked over to a picture of me and mom hugging at my grad 6 graduation. I was crying while my mom was crying too knowing I won a lot of awards. I took it off the nail on the wall and held it. A tear fell onto the glass of the frame. I hugged the picture frame. I miss you mom. Then after a few minutes the door opened making me look towards the door. It was Ashton. I wiped my tears away. He walked over to me.
"Hey, are you ok?"
He asked softly in a calm voice. I looked up at him and nodded. He wrapped an arm around me hugging me then he walked me over to the bed to sit down. I looked down at my lap.
"I'm sorry"
I said as he looked at me.
"It's not your fault, just as long as I'm close to home, I'll be fine"
He said as I nodded. I looked at the picture I was holding and smiled. Ashton looked at the picture.
"Is that you?"
He asked as I nodded.
"It was my Grade 6 Graduation, I got so many awards, my name on every plaque, it was the best day ever. Then in the afternoon we had pizza, played a few games and then a dance. My mom was there, I came up to her and she asked me to dance with the guy I liked but I was too scared."
He looked at me and smiled.
"I didn't know that guy a lot cause he was new to the school, he had blonde hair in a quiff, his eyes were a beautiful brown colour. I think he was wearing a black and white flannel with a black shirt under it and black jeans."
I continued as Ashton nodded.
"What school did you go to?"
He asked as I looked at him.
"Riverview"
I answered as he smiled at me.
"I was a new student in Riverview"
He said as I looked at him. He smirked at me.
"And when it was time for boys to ask girls to dance, 'he' chose me"
I said as he chuckled.
"Did he ask you what your name was first?"
He asked as I thought back. I said.
"Yes then he-"
"Told you how pretty you were and held your hand-"
"Pulling me closer to him them whispered in my ear asking-"
"Will dance with me?"
Ashton fished as my eyes widened.
"It was you?!"
We said at the same time.
