I woke up, sticky with sweat and, a face that tasted of salt. I blinked, eyes refocusing, seeing the face I feel inprinted on the back of my eyelids, his face, a nice face, fast asleep with a drunken smile balencing on his lips. I let my fingers trace his face, memorizing each eyelash and every ridge of his lips, warm air breathing through them, I smile. He blinks but remaines asleep. I slip out of his grasp and run to the shower, bringing clean clothes with me so I could change in there.

I see myself in the mirror, red puffy eyes, tear tracks trace the moments of last night and connect it all in my head...feeling alive for once in forever, feeling like a human instead of an empty rag doll, seeing all my scars right there, naked to the mirror, seeing the small breast and hair that covers my most scarred cavity, I stand there with hips and legs, a heart, a brain, lungs to breath, lips to smile, talk, kiss...eyes to see, cry, blink at the world...these things are beautiful to me, they signify I was and still am alive to be able hate and love with so much passion it will tear me apart one day...but that's not important, here stands a baby, a girl, a woman, old lady. mix into one waitting anxously for their turn. I pressed my palm into my stomach and felt the organs and blood and bone, all shifting benethe me...

Gently I pulled my clothes on and stared at the eyeliner in my hand, then without hesitation, I snapped it in half, tossed it in the garbage, I touched my nose peircing and smiled...I'm pretty...but not in that way...I'm real, alive, breathing...a beautiful machein. I didn't want to get dressed so I just sat down on the cold tiled floor i my white towel and stared at myself and blinked, wondering when I'd wake up.

A knock on the door and his voice came through the wood.

"Tempest?"

I couldn't turn away from the girl in the glass and I couldn't open my mouth to respond.

"Pretty girl? Please say something." His voice was scared, I wish I could tell him not to worry, that everything worked right in my robot, that I was ok...

"I'm coming in ok?"

the door creaked and a wave of cool air ran it's fingers through my wet, scarlet hair, brushing it across my face. When did I get so close to the mirror, when did my hands move to press against the glass.

"Pretty girl, please look at me."

I simply smiled and stared.

gentile hands held my hips and pulled me back, from the mirror, into the kneeling man who owned those hands, those hands turned me to face that man and I smiled...raising my hand to his cheek. His eyebrows furrowed and so I smoothed them out with the other hand and kissed his nose gentily, then his forehead.

"Pretty girl aren't you cold?"

I shook my head, but his arms were so warm and for the first time I realised I had goosebumps.

He blushed, cupping my face with his big hands, drawing me closer, and cradling my head on his shoulder, rocking us back and forth...

"Pretty girl, you take my breath away...how is that possible!" He whispered into my hair.

He helped me up and out of the bathroom, Ley was there, I smiled at her.

"oh baby." She hugged me, and tried to shoo Jay out of the room, "she needs to get dressed."

But I didn't let go of his hand.

"Ok fie, he can stay but if he does anything, I'll kill him."

As the towel fell to the floor his blush went scarlet and he turned away. Ley dressed me gentily like a fragile child and I felt like one, small and fragile. Black legging and a knee length skirt, grey, a t-shirt and sweater and then green hat, she helped me put on my chucks. She fussed for a minute then smiled.

"Ok Jay, you can look now."

His smile made me beem and I felt myself come back into myself, bit by bit, pulling the amazement of life with it, pulling the darkness away from my being and being clensed, letting my soul heal itself and be able to breath...

I grinned at him and blushed.

"Hey wolf boy?"

"Yeah pretty girl?"

"What was that about taking you breath away?"
