Michael McIntyre's POV:

The drive back to Paris had been pain-stakingly worse than I had imagined. I was not happy on any level.

After the conversation with my mother and the long dragging silent dinner I had about enough of this lifestyle.

I had a feeling I could never compete for Juliet's affection with 'it's complicated guy.' I felt slightly hurt.

Even if she had no feelings for me, we were at least friends and how dare she not mention him to me. I thought we were close enough.

I drummed my fingers anxiously on the wheel of the car as I parked it back in the garage of the rental building.

I grabbed the luggage and stuffed it into the trunk of a yellow taxi cab that picked us up at the station.

I gave him Juliet's address. He reluctantly began driving out towards the outside of the city to the destination.

I grew more and more mixed up in emotion as we neared her home. When the time came I thankfully paid the man.

She rushed out to give me a hug which I hesitantly took. She noticed my uncomfortable demeanor. Was I going to tell her what was troubling me?

No.

Lucas had tugged on my pant leg he caught his first sight of her. I looked down at his small innocent face.

He had asked the most adorable question I had ever heard in my entire life. I could only laugh when I heard it.

"Daddy? Is than an angel?" he beamed with glowing eyes. A high pitched chuckle emerged from deep inside my chest.

"No buddy, just a girl." I patted him on the head. He looked back up towards her, accepting the hug she offered him.

"Michael they're so cute. And they look just like you." she looked up towards me from the ground where she stood by them.

"Are you calling me cute?" I smirked. It was intentionally supposed to be a joke, yet she had responded in a way I wasn't expecting.

"No, I'm saying you're attractive. They're going to be ladies men." she winked, ruffling Oscar's shaggy brown hair.

I believe for the first time in my entire life I blushed. I could feel the heat raise to my face. She thought I was attractive?

That was a bonus I suppose, but it wasn't that simple with her. She wasn't the type of girl that went for looks.

She had to really LIKE a person in order to want to be with them. She had explained all of this when we spoke about Antonio.

She took their suitcases and helped me lug them inside. Their room was the one Thomas had occupied for our stay.
