Chapter 15

After the long, boring, pointless, stupid, overrated, geeky movie, Luna went upstairs into her room. She pulled the covers over her shoulder and tried to go to sleep. She did go to sleep. She woke up at 3:00 and sat upright. She couldn't go back to sleep. All she kept hearing was, “Luna! Luna! Come and join me, Luna!” The Phantom was calling her.

She got out of bed. She went into the bathroom the wash her face in the sink. She washed and scrubbed it. She dried her face on the towel. She didn't even bother looking in the mirror knowing she wouldn't show up.

But wait, there was something in the mirror. It was... the Phantom. Luna stared at him. He was still in his black hoodie. He held out his hand. His hand went through the mirror. Luna grabbed it not taking her eyes of the Phantom. She was in a trance again.

The Phantom had taken her into his lair. It was in the woods somewhere, the same place he had taken her last time. He told Luna to sit down, she sat on a log. The Phantom stood I front of her.

“Luna,” the Phantom said. Luna nodded slowly. “I've been waiting. Why didn't you come earlier.”

“I wasn't sure how to get to you,” Luna told him.

“You could have taken my hand when I arrived at your doorstep earlier,” the Phantom said. “Why, if weren't for Benny, you'd already be here.”

“What's wrong with Benny?” Luna asked.

The Phantom just stared at her. He turned around and started floating away. Luna got up and ran after him. “Wait!” she called.

The Phantom stopped and turned to face her. “What?” he asked.

Luna got close to him. “I always think about you,” she told him. “Even when Benny's around, I still think about you. You could even say that I...” Luna paused to get even closer to the Phantom, “...love you.”

The Phantom took her hair and tucked it behind her ear. He then leaned in and kissed her. Luna felt him, which meant that he wasn't actually a phantom after all. Luna kissed him harder. She put her hand into his hood and ran her fingers through his soft hair. For Luna, it felt so right. The Phantom moved his hand up and down her back. They finally broke apart.

“I love you too,” the Phantom whispered and disappeared.
