I wake up moments later to another teenage boy holding my arm and cutting the ropes used to restrain me. He is broader than the other boy with dark brown hair streaked over his chiseled face.  I look up only to find gentle brown eyes staring back at me.

"Do your arms hurt?" he says to me holding my hand gently.

I quickly pull my arm away and sit up only to be greeted with another wave of nausea.

"Yeah," I reply.

"I'll live." If I ever get out of here, I thought to myself.

Then the boy grabbed my hurt leg. I was so caught off guard, I jumped, slurring obscenities at him. He starred back at me wide eyed.

"Did I hurt you?" He asked me with a genuine look of concern painted on his face.

"No," I stuttered trying my best to hide my weaknesses.

"Who are you?" I asked him

"My name is Locke." He replied setting the dagger he used down on the bedside table.

Then he stood up, winked at me and left the room leaving the shiny gold dagger sitting on the table. I waited twenty seconds until I was sure there was no one outside the door. I then cautiously swung my hurt leg over the side of the bed. Tears sprung to my eyes as I gently shifted my weight to my right side. Where am I, I thought out loud to myself. I then took a step toward the table with the shiny dagger resting on it. I reached my shaky hand out to pick it up.

"Ahh," I winced as the dagger left a boiling burn on my palm.

"Son of a..." I stopped myself as I heard the door swing open. It was the blonde boy from earlier. He looked at me and then to the dagger in shock.

"Did it burn you?" He questioned clearly still in shock.

"Yeah that little....." He cut me off

"Let me see."

"It's nothing." I said quickly hiding my hand behind my back.

"Your friend left it in here."

The boy gestured at my hand and I finally relinquished it to his gaze.

"He meant you no harm." He said while inspecting my hand.

"He was actually genuinely trying to help you." The boy said finally letting my hand go.

I looked at him for any sign of lying but there was no movement in his stance.

"I need some answers." I said looking him directly in the eye.

"I can only answer a few." He said meeting my gaze.

He gestured toward the bed and I turned to take a seat finally releasing the pain built up in my leg.

I thought for a minute on my first question. Where do I start? There were so many things jumbled in my mind. I decide to keep it simple.

"Okay, Asher." I said with a hint of noticeable sarcasm in my voice.

"How did I end up here?" He looked at me and sighed.

"You were found in a cave about three miles from here. Your leg was pinned between two boulders. I was able to lift one of the boulders to free your leg and I brought you back here." he said with a sorry look in his eyes.

I hesitated "What is h...." He interrupted me "My turn to ask the questions." he said.

He began "You know my name, but I don't know yours."

I took this into consideration for a moment contemplating whether to use a foe name or my real one. Finally deciding to use my real name I spoke up.

"Piper...Piper Newt." I said.

He chuckled a little and looked at me.

"I have never met anyone named Piper and I have definitely never met anyone with the last name Newt."

"Oh, okay Asher Slade."I said mockingly.

He looked down and was smiling then he looked at me with his beautiful eyes and I felt again the weakness that I felt earlier begin to take me over. This time I didn't try to push it down. He stood up picking up the dagger with him, but he didn't seem to be affected by it.

"I will let you get some rest." He said "we can finish asking questions tomorrow." He started to walk away.

"Hey, thank you for saving my life and all the other day. I bet you have a lot of damsels in distress needing you." I said sarcastically.

He smiled  and turned to me"Goodnight Miss Piper Newt." he said and then he left.
