I hear a small crunching sound as if someone had just smashed a bug under under their shoe. I turn to see blood seeping out between the two rocks that trap my left leg.

I can't even feel pain anymore, my body shivers in shock and I allow myself to scream only increasing the tension in my leg.

Then I hear another sound, but this time it is a sound of hope. White light flashes and then I see a strange man come towards me, he looks me in the eyes and I feel a shift in my mashed flesh and then I blackout.

I wake up next in a dark room illuminated by lights that resembled stars lit on the ceiling. My vision is tainted and cloudy.

I hear a faint sound of what seemed to be a flute playing in a room near by. I try to pull myself up as I feel a restraint holding my leg down along with a fresh, white bandage. I test the movement in my leg by wiggling my big toe. Pain shoots through my body, I wince in surrender to the hot pain. As I pull my head up from the bed I am braced to. I look around the room and my eyes find a large stack of papers, with what seemed to be a dagger lying on top them.

Then I hear footsteps coming closer to the large wooden door in the corner of the room. It clicks as the doorknob turns and opens. I am unprepared for what is to come next. Then a teenage boy enters the room. He has soft dirty blond hair, and piercing green eyes that almost seemed unreal. he was tall but skinny, and he wore jeans with a black t-shirt.

His gaze met mine and he took careful steps toward me setting down the tray he was carrying in his hand. As he set it down I watched the mug's dark brown contents slosh around and then finally settle. I met his gaze again, he pulled a chair up next to the bed. He looked to me and folded his hands then opened his mouth as if to speak but then closed it again.

"Where am I?" I questioned

"Is my leg okay?" The boy opened his mouth again but this time I did not give him a chance to speak

"Where is my ring?" I say as I flick at the empty spot on my finger.

"Drink this" he said as he handed me the mug

"Not until you tell me where I am" I cried back at him.

He looked me in the eyes again and I felt myself go slightly weak under the gaze of his leafy green eyes.

"Snap out of it" I muttered to myself.

"My name is Asher Slade and you are here because you were found unconscious in a cave near our fort."

I let my mind process what he said.

"What do you mean "our" and why do you have a fort?" I said.

He looked at me as if he what he was about to say he wasn't sure of, or that he didn't want to say it at all. As he shifted something changed, and he hesitated then made up his mind.

"I will leave you to get more rest." he said and got up.

"Hope you like the coffee." he said as he gestured toward the mug sitting on the table next to me.

I eyed the brown liquid cautiously.

"Wait, what about these." I said as I gestured to the ropes still tightly holding me to the messy bed.

He sighed and turned to face me again.

"I will send Locke in here to help you with those." he said and then turned and left.

I began to shiver. I felt something new and uncontrollable come over me, but then I quickly forced myself to push the new feeling away. I lifted my hand up and studied the ropes. They were worn and frayed. Then out of the sudden I hear a loud sound that pierced the atmosphere above me. I covered my ears, but there was no use it had already taken it's affect on me.
