I woke up in a white room.

I hear Asher's voice, "We keep meeting like this."

I looked up to face him.

"It's not my fault that I can't go five seconds without passing out," I said.

He chuckled, "You remember when you picked up that dagger Locke left in your room," he asked.

How could I forget, I could still feel the burnt, callused skin of my palm.

"Yeah, why," I said.

"It burnt you didn't it?" he said.

"A little," I said, "Why does it matter?"

"Well that dagger is made for warlock magic. If a human were to touch it, it would leave the mark of warlocks on them, but when you touched it you were burned," he said.

I smirked burnt was an understatement. The only visible skin left on my skin was white and bubbly. He paced uncertain of his next move.

"I believe you were burnt because you are something we call an "Exlander", he said.

"What?" I was so confused.

"An Exlander is someone who had a warlock parent and a human parent. They are basically a hybrids. They are very rare and they can contain very strong powers," he said.

"What are you talking about?" I said almost shouting.

It was hard for me to take everything in my mind was spinning. Then it hit me, he might be right. I never actually knew my parents. I was shifted through foster homes my whole life. I had such a sad, soppy story I barely even cared anymore. My thought process was interrupted by Asher's voice.

"I know this is a lot of things to throw at you, but when we found you we took some of your blood incase we needed to match it. We just got the test results back, you have high amounts of Osie in your blood. Osie is a type of mineral that is only found in hybrid blood, it is so rare that the human species doesn't even know of its existence. There are currently only two hybrids alive you and Magna."

Magna that name seemed to ring a bell.

"Magna is the leader of the human race," said Asher his voice sad and solemn.

"Wait, are you sure I am a Exlander or whatever," I said still not fully believing him.

He spoke up " I know this is really soon and a lot to take in but, we had to tell you. As you might know the last Exlander almost killed off the warlock species."

I was taken aback how could he ever think I would ever harm a warlock or anyone for that matter. I could feel the color drain from my face.

"You think I am a danger." I said.

"No." He said raising his voice "Not at all, but the other warlocks are not so sure. They have only had experience with Magna and It was not a good one."

"So everyone knows?" I asked embarrassed.

"Not unless you want them to," He said smirking.

He turned to leave.

"Wait," I said "Asher can you stay with me."

He looked at me straight in the eyes and I could feel apart of me melt.

"Sure," he said

Then he walked back over to me. I scooted over to the left of the bed to give him room to sit. He then carefully sat himself next to me. I could feel the heat of his body.

"Piper," he said.

"Yeah," I replied.

"I am so sorry," he said.

"For what? You saved my life," I said.

He smirked and bent down near to me. I could feel him even closer. The heat coming from his chest fled over me and I felt a chill run down my spine. He touched my cheek gently cradling my jaw. I felt another chill rush through my body. I curled my body into him and he kissed me on the forehead and wrapped his arms around me. I felt my eyes get droopier and then as I began to fall asleep I heard his voice, but I blacked out before I could tell what he said.
