P.O.V. Luna Okol, Asia

The wind whips past my head, blowing my mid-back length black hair into my face. The mid-morning sun beats down viciously making the already hot oven, even hotter. I sigh and wipe my thin arm across my forehead. The sweat from my head smears across my arm, making both of them look darker than normal.

"Did you finish with that last batch?" Ms. Shena asks from across the hall.
"Yes!" I shout back. Somehow, she doesn't hear me, so she comes into the kitchen.
"What?" she asks. I just nod this time, too annoyed to speak. Ms. Shena sighs and takes the loaves of bread out to the front of the small bakery shop. I sigh again and gather my things into my satchel that's on the coat hanger.

"Bye, Mrs. Shena!" I yell over my shoulder as I walk out the door.
"Have a nice day, Luna!" She shouts back. I adjust my bag on my shoulder before progressing down the street.

After a few minutes, I pull out a hair tie from my bag and pull back my now frizzy from the humidity. I look up to the sky and close my eyes, due to the blinding sun. My mind drifts as I walk.

Now, you might think walking with your eyes closed is a bad idea, but I have our crowded city Catbalogan memorized like the back of my hand. I also can see people's souls or spirits. I can see if they're alive or not and if they have a dominant good or bad soul. No one is truly good with no sins and no one is truly bad with no good virtues. People say 'the eyes are the windows to the soul' but I don't need a window. I have the key to the whole house. It's not as weird as it sounds.

"Hey! Watch where you're going!" A deep voice calls out behind me. I open my eyes and look behind me to see a young man trudging away. I see him look back, say something, and smirk. I focus only on his soul and hear his voice,
"You've got no idea what's coming to you." My brows furrow in confusion,
"What?" I shake my head to clear my thoughts. I turn to continue my walk home but a slight movement near my foot causes me to stop and look down. I see a wax seal envelope lying on the ground. A purple aura surrounds the entire seal with an A and U in the center.

I pick up the letter and turn it around in my hands. I look around to see if anyone's looking for anything, but to no avail. Finally, I open the letter and read the creme colored paper contained within.
"Holy fudge."

Hey-o! I'm sorry this chapter is so short it's just been really hard to figure out a way to make the story shorter but also still have at least 30,000 words. I'll try to update sooner and make the story more interesting so stay tuned! BTW have any of you seen the movie Standing Ovation? I've been watching it over and over again so now I have all the songs memorized. That's all for now! (P.S. that's not me. That's a pic I found on the internet.)

Vale,

Luna
