P.O.V. Terrence Sczech, South America

"Terrence! Get your dang butt down here!" My mom calls to me from downstairs.
"Ugh, I'm busy, Mom!" I shout back. I sigh and turn back to the bright morning sky, "This day just keeps getting better." I say sarcastically.
"TERRENCE!" My mom shouts again.
"ALRIGHT!" I yell back as I get up.

I clamber my way back down the rickety scaffolding of our building. Part of our apartment was left unfinished so the building owner gives part of each section to whoever rents a room. I'm practically the only person who uses the scaffolding so everyone lets me use their section.

I drop down to the floor of our apartment room and walk into the kitchen. My mom is trying to make breakfast while taking care of my brothers and sisters. I walk over to my younger brother, John, and ruffle his dark hair,
"What're you doing, kiddo?" I ask him.
"Helping Momma!" he exclaims. I smile and turn to my mom.
"What do you want?" I ask.
"I need you to go get the mail." She answers matter-of-factly. I groan before I trudge to the door. Taking the key before I go, I run out into the street.

The hot sun scorches my skin as I jog to the mail house. The burning pavement causes me to run and soon, I reach my destination.

"Hola, Carlos." An elderly man greets me from behind the desk.
"Hey, Mr. Terosa." I reply. I walk to our mail bin and sort through the mail, "Boring, useless, not ours, really, why do we keep getting this, n- what's this?" I take out a wax seal envelope from the pile of mail. I turn to Mr. Terosa, "Do you have a letter opener?" He nods and hands one to me. Before ripping open the letter, I notice a wax seal with a large A and U with blue water droplets surrounding them on the seal. Opening the letter, I pull out a creme colored paper and begin to read. Then I realize a problem: I'm a horrible reader. Turning back to Mr. Terosa, I look at him sheepishly. He says nothing and motions me over to him. I walk over to him and give him the letter. He reads it aloud to me and I immediately take the letter and mail and run straight home, the sun absent from my mind.

Hey-o! 20 DAYS LEFT!!! 20!!! As you know from my previous updates, I'm participating in a novel writing contest called NaNoWriMo. For the junior program, you have to write a minimum of 30,000 words in a novel. In the adult program you have to write 50,000 words so I combined both and set a goal of 40,000 words. You have one month to write the book, starting on November 1st and ending on November 30th. I haven't even gotten to the part where the characters meet and I only have 20 more days to write. HELP ME!!!!!!! (P.S. Terrence is the Water Dimension. )

Vale,

Luna
