Bree's PoV
My hand came away with Adam's blood. I knew that because he didn't touch chase's bloodied side with that hand.
"Adam?" I asked, nervously turning around. "You-you have something sticking out of your right shoulder."
He looked down at the piece of metal stuck in his shoulder, and pulled it out. The cut was deep.
"Bree, Chase, Adam?" I heard Davenport's voice. "You-"
"Mr. Davenport!" I ran into the room before the Lab and collapsed in his arms.
"Bree?" He asked, stopping.
"Its Chase! He-he's got choked and stabbed, and I don't know what to do!"
"We have to take him to a hospital," Davenport said, running into the Lab, where Chase lay in a pool of blood. The knife wound must have been deep for it to still be bleeding.
"What about, you know what...."
"I don't care. My son's life is at stake, and if rather have the secret exposed than loose him forever."
Tasha was working, so I scribbled a note, and gave her a text and a call before running out the door behind Adam, whose leg seemed fine, but shoulder still seemed in pain.
We barged into the hospital like a stampede, and up to the front desk. Chase lying limply in Adam's arms.
The Secretary told us where to go, and soon, my little brother was hooked up to machines here and there. The steady beat of the heart monitor was the only thing keeping me from breaking down. The only thing that assured me he was alive.
Adam was in another room, getting stitched up. A nurse had seen his wound, and insisted on helping. My wrist still throbbed, but I didn't tell anyone. Davenport had enough to worry about.
I sat in the waiting room next to Tasha and Leo, waiting for news on Chase's condition. Tasha was hugging me tight, and Leo was leaning against me, asleep.
"Are you the Davenports?" A doctor asked, cutting.g into my think time.
"Yes," Tasha responded. "How is he?"
"I'm sorry Mrs. Davenport, but your son is in a coma. The circulation of air flow through his lungs was cut off to too long, and he was suffering from . The knife in which had inflicted the wound, had been laced with a certain type of poison. He is in critical condition."
"Can I see him?" I asked, standing up.
"Until we are able to get him stable, no one is allowed to visit. I'm sorry."
I looked down, and sat in the chair. Life just really knew how to bite back.
~~~~~~~~time lapse, one week~~~~~~~~~~
I had visited Chase everyday, after they stabilized him. Luckily for me, there was no sign of the Silver Screamer, but I had the haunting feeling he would come back.
I walked into Chase's room, where it was decorated with cards from people. I stared for a while, at how lifeless he looked.
Since we had began going on missions, Chase was the one who always had my back. But when he needed me most, I failed.
The beeping of the machine was the only sound I could hear.
"Chase," I whispered, feeling tears. "If you can hear me, I want you to know, I love you. A lot. I don't want you to think I hate you, because I don't. I'm sorry for saying things that I did. I miss you. I haven't been able to focus, and neither has Adam. We aren't a team without our mission leader. We've fallen apart without you. I have to go, but I want you to know, I really miss you at home, but its-its okay if you want to leave. I understand." The tears stung, but I quickly wiped them away.
In the past week, nothing had changed in his condition, and that's what worried me the most.
I sat there, silent, until I heard a knock on the door.
"Come in," I mumbled, assuming it was Davenport, or Tasha. Instead, I came face to face with a dark haired girl. She had the sad kind of look in her eyes, like she knew what was happening.
"Who are you?" I asked, getting up from the chair.
"My name is Iris West. I heard about you story, and I needed to come here."
"Why, what's so great about my story, our story?"
"Look, I know what you're going through," Iris explained. She stared at the unconscious form of my brother. "My best friend, and brother, sort of, Barry, he was exactly like this. I remember coming into his hospital everyday, wanting him to wake up. Then there was this one day, when a man from S.T.A.R. Labs told my dad and I, Barry wouldn't make it unless we brought him to S.T.A.R. Labs. They saved him."(BEFORE YOU GUYS ALL FREAK ON ME!! Yes, I did use the story of the flash from the TV show, but here's the reason. I looked into The comic book character, and then compared it to the TV version. Though I like to comic book version, I felt I didn't know enough about comic book version of him to write about it. I didn't want to make people mad when I used the wrong facts for the comics, so that's why I used the TV version.)
"What happened to him?" I asked.
"I'm not sure I should tell you, but I'm going to trust you. Don't tell anyone else! Got it?"
I nodded.
"He became the Flash. He saves people everyday. I know what I'm asking is a lot, but I think I can save your brother, if you let me take him to STAR Labs."
"I don't know..." My voice trailed off, and my eyes wondered off to where my brother lay.
"Let her," a familiar voice interrupted.
"Mr. Davenport! We barely know her!"
"Listen, if it save Chase, I'm all for it. I risked the hospital visit, but I'd rather know he's in good hands."
"Is that a yes?" Iris asked, standing up.
"Mr. Davenport, you can seriously-"
"Yes, it is. Bree go call your brothers, we're going to Central City."
I already explained why I used to TV version on the Flash's story, and I hope you understand why I did.
Please give feedback!! The team will have a lot of fun beating up metahumans and meeting team Flash.
And if you watch the Flash,yes, Zoom will be in this. I'm not sure if he's in the comics, I'll look into that. If he is I'll probably give him the comic book personality.Let's just say, Adam, Bree, and Leo will give Zoom quite a surprise.........
