(What this video^^its completely unrelated but it's really good. Them feels tho.......also this song)
I didn't know what it was, but the tingling in my hand never went away. For the first time in a long time, I had finally felt some sort of connection with Chase. Maybe he wasn't too far gone yet.Iris sat down next to me in the lab, and glanced at me for a second.
"He's going to be fine," she began, sitting up straighter in her chair. "Caitlin, Cisco, and Wells(Welles?)know what to do."
"How do you know?" I asked, turning my head to face hers.
"They saved Barry," Iris half smiled.
I thought of all the stories I'd heard about the Flash. He'd been struck by lightning, and no hospital could save him, it was a miracle he survived.
"Thanks, Iris," I smiled back. "Quick question, though."
She nodded at me.
"Is it possible, for a comatose patient to possibly shock you? Stronger and more forcefully than normal?"
Iris was quiet for a moment before answering. All she stated was a simply 'yes' before leaving the room. That was odd. It was almost like she'd had the same thing happen to her.
I walked into the guest area that iris and Caitlin had set up for us. Davenport was there, sitting at the desk with his laptop placed in front of him.
"Hi," I acknowledged numbly.
"Bree," he turned around. "You okay?"
"Yeah, why wouldn't I be?"
"I just know that you two were pretty close, and this is probably hard for you right now, with Chase getting hurt."
I took a deep breath. He didn't understand at all, and there was no way I could tell him what had happened just a few moments ago, he'd want to conduct experiments on static electricity and meta humans and things that I didn't even want to know about. "Davenport, I get it. We live in an imperfect world. People get hurt in imperfect worlds, and I just have to live with that. Besides, I know they can save him. I'm not giving up yet."
He gave me an odd look before turning back to his work. I flopped down on one of the make shift beds, and stared at the ceiling. I knew part of Chase was still there, and that shock was something. My eyes wandered to the wall, where I had hung up a few of Chase's genius posters. It was just something to make it feel more like home. I just wanted him to wake up. I just wanted him to make some smart remark, or lame joke. I just wanted him to be here, healthy.
Half of me wanted to believe that it would have happened no matter what, but the other half of me knew it was partially my fault. I had the speed to save him, but I didn't use it.
A light knock came at the door, and I looked up. Barry opened the door with a slight grin on his face.
"Hey, uh, Barry...The flash...I honestly don't know what to call you," I stammered.
"Barry's fine," he chuckled. "Anyway, Davenport said you were here. He tells me yours a speedster too."
I couldn't stop the smile from coming. "Yeah, I guess."
"You wanna race?" He asked, holding out a hand.
"Gladly."
