Chapter 5

You stepped out of your room.  You looked down at yourself.

“Katie, I’m not sure” you called down the hall looking at your dress again.

She stepped out of her room in her summer dress.

“You look great” she smiled.

“But it’s cold outside” you replied feeling the cool air nip at your exposed legs already.

“The party’s inside silly” she said returning to her room for shoes.

“Now come on, we’ll be late” he said as you walked out of the room

Arriving at the party 10 minutes late, you stepped out of your car.  Katie quickly fixed her make up before stepping out of the car.

You were freezing, just like you told her you would be.

Katie took your am and you walked to the door.

After you knocked on the door Ashton answered.

“Hey” he said standing back to let the two of you through the door. “You both look nice.”

“So do you” you replied smiling.

You made your way into the living room where the party was.  Music was blasting out from the speakers, hurting your ears already.  You looked around; you recognised a few faces but there was hardly anyone that you knew.  Tammi and Michael were sat in the corner whispering to each other.  You moved out of the living room and into the kitchen.  Luke was pouring a drink.

“Hey” you said waving.

He looked up from the drink.

“Hi, are you feeling better?”

“Yeah thanks” you replied.

“You want a drink?” he asked signalling towards the table full of alcohol.

“Erm I really shouldn’t…” you trailed off blushing at how stupid you sounded.

“Go on” he smiled pouring you a beer.

“Fine” you replied taking the drink from him.

Making your way back into the living room you noticed someone had changed the music to a decent song.  Luke went to sit down to Katie and you looked around for a free seat.  You saw one next to Calum and went over to him.

“Cal, hey is anyone sat here?” you said pointing to the free space.

“[Y/n], hi!  No one’s sat there” he replied beaming at you.

He noticed your drink.

“Is it really a good idea to be drinking alcohol?” he questioned laughing a little.

“Well Luke twisted my arm and I’m only having one I promise” you replied before taking a sip.

You and Calum spent the next hour just chatting.

“So any girlfriend yet, Cal?” you asked while finishing of your forth drink.

“Nope I’m still single as fuck” he said laughing drinking his own drink.

“Aw I’m sure you’ll find someone” you comforted.

“I’ll tell you something,” he slurred “I always fancied you when you were dating Michael.”  You looked at him shocked.  You knew he was drunk and you’d got a bit tipsy yourself.  You got up to get another drink.

Calum followed you into the kitchen.

“Hey [y/n] wait” he called.  You turned around.

“Calum, I don’t feel the same.  I’m sorry.  I’m still in love with -”

Before you could finish you were cut off by his lips crushing to yours.  You didn’t know whether it was the alcohol or the recent lack of affection but you didn’t push him away straight away.  You finally got your head back together and managed to break free from the kiss.

The last thing you remember was the look of disappointment on Calum’s face and trying to get out of the house as soon as possible.
