We all have those days where we just do not feel like working. Where you just want to sit down and take a load off, maybe lay down and take a nap, or maybe just do flat out nothing? Today was one of those days. Of course my shift at Marc's was never really that eventful, I mean come on its a grocery store.

Lazily I stocked shelves with bread and hummed along with the song playing in my ears. I did this for another 10 minutes before my shift was done at 4:00. I gathered up my things and started to head for the front entrance, but before I could make it out the door, my coworker and great friend; Jon Raeson, stopped me.

"Hey Katie, are you busy tonight? I was wondering if you maybe wanted to get dinner and then maybe see a movie?" He asked. Asking me out again. I'll admit Jon was kinda cute, with his wavy brown hair, dark brown eyes and careless hipster personality, but in all honesty I just wasnt into him. And even though he's my friend, I had to make an excuse not to say yes.

"I would love to Jon, but its my turn to make dinner tonight for me and Liz, and I promised her that I would make chicken and biscuits. Its her favorite." I explained. Jon's shoulders slumped a bit and he nodded in disappointment.

"Ok, I'll see you tomorrow then." He sulked slighty and then walked out to his car. I didn't like lying to him like that and making him all miserable but, if I'm not into him then I shouldn't be obligated to date him, right? Right. I didn't pay it any more mind than that and went out to my own car and drove off.

When i got home about 15 minutes later, I was greeted by my roommate. We had been friends since we were 4, so we had decided on sharing an apartment together a long time ago. And now since we were both out of college without any student loans, all we had to worry about was paying the rent. Setting my stuff down on the table I saw Lizzy was sitting on the couch watching Impractical Jokers. Elizabeth Shay was my roommate and best friend in the entire world. She had chesnut, shoulder length, straight hair and blue eyes. She had already changed out of her work clothes and into some gray sweatpants and a Van Halen tshirt.

"Whats up buttercup?" I asked flopping down next to her on the couch.
"Not much, how was work?" Liz answered.
I shrugged: "Same old same old. What about you?"
"Interesting, we started a new experiment for the theory we're testing on the analysis of statistical mechanics" She explained. Liz worked as a chemical engineer at the local science facility.
"You know I don't understand that science talk." I teased.
Liz rolled her eyes. "Well maybe you'll understand this talk: its your turn to cook dinner tonight!" She exclaimed.
Suddenly I remembered what I had told Jon. Oh yeah.
"Chicken and biscuits."
