After my interview I had scheduled a 4 hour shift for myself at Marcs. I arrived there at quarter till 3, so I went to the bathroom and changed into my work uniform, and then went to the bakery and bought a donut and some hot chocolate.
I couldnt shake the feelings and thoughts of the past hour from my mind. I had souly decided that Cameron Glass definitely had a strong effect on me. He was so intimidating, so precise, so...attractive... the craziest part was that he did next to nothing and my emotions and thoughts fell powerless to him. This is probably why hes the owner of the company genius... Even still, that wasn't normal.
I must've been deep in thought because I didnt even notice Jon come up next to me. He had a sad look on his face, as I would've suspected.
"Anthony tells me you're quitting?" He says with a mopey expression.
"I need a job that provides better money than this one. My landlord raised the rent and now I can't pay my half with the money I make here." I explained.
"Its not going to be the same here without you though!" Jon whined.
I smiled lightly now. "I think you guys will be just fine here without me, besides I still have 2 more weeks to get through so lets make them last."
Jon's face brightened slightly. "At least you'll be here a little longer! But where will you go?" He asked.
"I had an interview today at the Glass House company. The head said I'd find out if I got the job within the next week." I answered.
"Fancy. Hey if you get the job I can always still come visit you!" Jon suggested. He's trying waaaayyy too hard to flirt right now....
"Yeah...maybe..." I mumbled. Thankfully thats when our manager Anthony came over.
"Hey just becasue you're leaving in 2 weeks doesn't mean that you can laze around." Anthony joked.
"Alright then give me something to do!" I teased back to him. Anthony had always been a cool and understanding boss. I just might miss him more than Jon when I leave.
The rest of my shift was just the same old daily grind. Except for the fact that I couldn't get Cameron out of my mind. God it was like being back in high school when you have a crush; they take over your thoughts.
When I finally arrived back home for the night around 7:00 Lizzy was sitting at our kitchen table eating mac n'cheese.
"Hey you!" She greeted.
"Heyy, I'm guessing that's dinner?" I asked.
Lizzy pointed toward the stove. "There's more in the pot."
I helped myself to the rest of what was on the stove and sat down at the table with Liz. Only I was thinking too much to eat, so I just twirled my spoon around the bowl, causing the noodles to make that weird "mac n'cheese noise". Lizzy noticed this and looked at me funny.
"You good?" She asked.
"Hm? Yeah I'm ok, just thinking that's all." I said.
"By the way, how did today go? With your interview?" Liz wondered.
Suddenly all the pictures in my head from earlier came back. Him turning to face me for the first time, his firm handshake, him wetting his lips, the way he kept his eyes fixed on me as if I was his prey. "It went well I guess." I responded finally.
"What's the head of the company like? What's his name?" Liz urged me on for details.
"His name is Cameron Glass." My lips trembled from uttering his name. "He seems very....mature." I stated.
"How so?" Lizzy asked me.
"He was so focused on the task at hand, never broke his eye contact, he seems like he ALWAYS knows what he's doing." I explained.
"And is he hot?" Liz blurted out.
Wanting to go on a full scale rant about how completely gorgeous he was, I kept those thoughts inside and played it off. "He's alright." I lied.
"Oh my god you are already totally head over heels for this man!!!" Lizzy accused, seeing straight through my lie. "I'm going to look up his picture!!!" She exclaimed.
About 30 seconds later she had pulled up a picture of Cameron Glass on her laptop.
"Holy shit! Katie!! He is SO attractive! Girl you are going to have the hottest boss in town! Alright so wait, you said he seems like he always knows what he's doing, what did you mean when you said that?" Liz asked.
"I don't know, he.... he never took his eyes off of me, even when I wouldn't look at him he would just stare. Like he was studying me. That and he did this sexy smirk a couple times." I explained.
"Girl if there is one thing I've learned from you, its that what you just explained is called he was checking you out!" Lizzy implied.
I smiled. "Liz, I don't think I attract hot and wealthy business tycoons, I'm the type of girl that attracts the quiet nerdy types. That would explain why Jon desperately trys to get dates with me, cause he's kind of a hipster nerd." I answered.
"Yeah ok, let's just wait and see if you get the job, and when you do, we'll see just how Mr. Glass treats his "fresh meat"." Liz teased poking my arm.
Liz left me alone in the kitchen to finish my dinner. She also left me alone with my thoughts, that had now taken a sharp turn to the fantasy side. Cameron Glass, big time business owner, plenty of money to get anything he wanted, not to mention any girl he wanted, and Lizzy thinks that he was checking a girl like me out. I'll give myself credit, I wasn't bad. Blue eyes, light brown, curly hair with blonde highlights, a curvy body with decent sized 36C boobs and 'big booty power' as Lizzy called it. But I still don't think that I'm the type of woman that a man of Cameron Glass' kind wanted. Guys like him probably wanted a woman that was all class, not sass and ass like me.
I decided to sleep on it. Maybe some rest would clear my head of this whole day. That, and I'm off from work tomorrow!
