I rolled over in bed and sunlight spilled onto my face. I opened my eyes to see that Levi wasn't beside me any longer. I sat up in the wooden bed and a shock of pain triggered me to whine. I hoped that I didn't wake anyone up. I heard footsteps walking up stairs and I threw myself down to make it look like I was asleep.
"Tch, I know you're awake." I heard a low voice say. I opened my eyes giving into the temptation to see Levi. I smiled at him at a loss for words to tell him how happy I was. He sighed and started walking to me. He sat on the edge of the bed and picked up the brace. "Give me your leg, brat." I pulled back the covers over my broken ankle and he gingerly placed it into the brace. He tightened all the straps needed and looked at me. "Are you incapable of getting up?"
"I don't think so." I sat up in the bed and swung my legs off the bed. I carefully placed both my feet on the floor and put on my boots over the brace on the left side. I carefully stood and maintained my balance. "L-Levi?"
"What?"
"D-did you mean everything you said last night?"
"Would I lie to you?"
"Thats what I don't know. I don't know if I-"
"Do you hate me?"
"N-no, but..." a flicker of sorrow filled Levi's eyes. I couldn't hurt him. I never want to. "I can trust you Levi. You were the first person I fully put my trust into." Levi stood and took both of my hands into his. I looked into his grey eyes and sighed, knowing I would never lose him. I opened my mouth to say something as he began to lead me to the stairs.
"What were you going to say?"
"I-it's just that...." I hesitated. I didn't know whether or not I should tell him how I felt.
"Tch, just get on with it or be quiet."
"It's just that I don't know if you'll hate me if I told you how I truly feel about you."
"Fine, then don't say it. Let me believe that you love me to keep me going." I smiled knowing that he wanted me to love him.
"I'll let you believe the truth." Levi's eyes widened a little and a twinkle of happiness flashed for a second. Levi approached the stairs, still holding onto my hands. "C-can I try walking down these by myself?"
"You'll probably fall." I nodded and held onto the side rail that was around the tree. I took a deep breath and started making my way down the stairs. Levi was slowly walking ahead of me, making sure if I fell, he would catch me.
We finally made it to the bottom and Levi's horse was still tied to the tree, but it looked content. We walked to the beautiful creature. I stroked her face as Levi put his hand on my shoulder. I looked into his silvery-grey eyes and smiled. He showed no emotion.
"We should be heading back. Erwin had a whole stack of papers for me to go through." Levi put his hands on my waist and hoisted me onto the back of the horse. For a man his size, wholly crap was he strong. I swung my right leg over the horse and Levi got behind me.
"L-Levi? Shouldn't you be in the front?"
"I want to see how you ride. She'll stay calm for you. All you have to do is lead her in the right direction." I nodded and grabbed the reigns. I softly whipped them and the horse started moving slowly forward. I smiled and laughed a little out of amusement. "Make her go faster. Not by much though." I decided to totally disregard his orders and made the horse go at full speed. I leaned forward and Levi quickly caught himself on my back. He grasped my waist in order not to fall off. "I said not to go too fast! You're still learning to ride her!"
