Light was shining through the window, leaking from the blinds. Today was the day. Today I would become part of the scouting regiment. I got up and slid out of my pajamas to take a shower. I turned on the hot water and stepped in. The hot water felt nice on my achey back and shoulders. Almost 6 years have passed since I lost my family, and it continues to haunt me to this day. I stepped out of the shower, dried off, and put on today's uniform. I started to brush out my hair, which was significantly longer now, and put it up into a high ponytail. I could hear Commander Shardez stomping down the hall, knocking and yelling at every one's door.

"Cadet (y/l/n)! Get your lazy ass down to training! It's the last one before you animals leave for your assigned groups." He yelled through my door.

"Yes, sir!" I echoed. I quickly slipped on my boots and ran out the door down to the field. Like always, I got there right after Mikasa and Eren, and Armin got there seconds after me.

"(Y/n)... May I have a word with you?" Eren mumbled. I nodded and followed him under a tree where he sat down and invited me to join him. "You know, you don't have to put your life in danger, just because I'm joining the survey corps. It's your choice."

"Eren..." I smiled and slightly laughed, "I want to be in the Survey corps, if it's not just to eradicate the titans, but to be with you, Mikasa, and Armin. That's all I want." I smiled and looked up at the sky.

"I-I'm just worried that you might get hurt. You know. With my power and all... What if I go rouge?" Eren said with a horse voice.

"Then I'll just have to kick your skinny little butt! You know that I'm not afraid to get hurt, if it means I can protect you guys." Eren smiled at me and started to blush. I may have embarrassed him, but, I really don't care. "Besides Eren, what have we been training for? What have we been planning since we were, like, 7? I'm not going to back down now!"

"Yeah, I guess. But, I don't need to be protected from the titans! I can beat them Myself!"

"It's not the titans I'm worried that will hurt you. I'm afraid that when you transform, I may never get to see the real you again." I lost my smile and I stared at Eren with a concerned look.

"Oh..." A shadow grew over us and there was a low growl. Eren and I looked up to see Commander Shardez glaring at us all evil eyed.

"Just what the hell do you thing you're doing over here cadets?" Shardez growled.

"N-nothing, i-it just-" I started

"Shut up Cadet (y/l/n)! Now get in that formation along with Cadet Yeager before I remove your meal privileges for a whole week! I knew I shoulda dropped you when I first saw you in my program..." I stood up and started to walk over to the formation wen Eren grabbed my shoulder.

"It's not her fault, sir! I'm the one who should be taking the blame!" Eren said with a stern voice.

"Eren..."

"I pulled her away from training to speak of personal affairs, sir! Revoke my privileges instead!" Eren continued.

"Very well! You're off the hook for now Cadet (Y/l/n). Yeager, your meal privileges have been revoked for the next three days. Now get into formation! Both of you!" said Commander Shardez as he walked to the front of the group.

"Eren, you don't have to take the blame!" I yell-whispered to Eren.

"I know. I just don't want to see you get called out on by Commander smart ass." Eren whispered in return as we reached the formation. I sighed and stood tall and stiff.
