Chapter 12

Weddings are one of the milestones in a person’s life. That’s what attracted me to this kind of job. For that special day, you are given a chance to transform it into a magical, unforgettable experience from the moment they wake up to the moment they leave the reception place.

Back to work, I wanted to make sure that I’m not settling for second best. I want all of the weddings to be a huge success, just like all of the weddings that I’ve handled. I checked every bouquet, every cameras and even the seating arrangement to make sure that the bride will be stress free.

“Prepare the bride now, in a couple of minutes she’ll do her walk.”  I ordered my assistant, Nikki, using the old school walkie-talkie. I was keeping myself busy at work so as not to think about the situation that I’m currently at.

Thankfully, the wedding was indeed successful. To the bride’s delight, she approached me and gave me a warm hug.

“You really are the best of the best! Thank you, Marge!’

And my work here is done.

As I was about to leave, I saw Stefan waiting for me outside the hotel.

“Leave.” I told him instinctively without making eye contact. I walked past him and started to look for my car in the parking area.

I could tell that he’s following me. I then noticed an overwhelming amount of paparazzi at the gate of the hotel and I’m quite sure I’m the one they’re eyeing at.

“The car was already picked up by your driver. I told your mom that I’ll pick you up from this day on.” He blurted out.

“What are you up to this time?” I answered back.

I’m so tired that I don’t have the energy to protest to him. I just went straight to his car.

“Just bring me straight home.” I commanded as he manuevered the car.”

It’s a good thing his car was tinted. So when we drove past the paparazzi I didn’t have to cover my face.

Then I remembered something.

“STOP!” I uttered all of a sudden.

I looked at my bag to search for my agenda notebook, the life line of every wedding planner. I couldn’t find it.

“What’s wrong?” he asked me.

“I left my agenda notebook.” I bit my lip. “Please turn the car back. “

“Go down and get it if you want to go home early.” He came into a full stop.

Is he kidding me?! He knows that we are surrounded by people! I stared furiously at him but he wouldn’t budge.

What a gentleman.

“Stefan, you can’t be serious. There’s a bunch of paparazzi outside. They’ll eat me up. You can’t do this to me!”

He acted out as if he doesn’t hear the words I say.

Pissed, I went back to the hotel by myself.

I’m blinded by the flashing of the cameras and my ear is hurting because of all the noise.

The hotel personnel came to my aid at the lobby and handed me my notebook. I didn’t waste anytime. I then went back to the car.

I couldn’t get past the Paparrazis because they’re all bombarding me with shots. Within a few feet away from the car, my dearest husband to be finally managed to get his ass off the automobile.  He acted as if he’s my knight and shining armor, rescuing me from this chaotic atmosphere. He took my hand and gave a statement to the press.
