This transition will result to a drastic change in my life.

After dragging myself into a much deeper hole, it has put me in a complicated position.  I cannot mask that doubts that have been circling my mind. With that said I can say that an important person in my life seemed to have noticed it.

“Today is the day. Are you ready, darling?” Dad smiled as he carried my luggage to Stefan’s car.

Dad handled the news well. I told him last night about the “moving in” and he supported me. He always makes sure that I am alright.

“All is good.” I patted my father’s back and give him a reassuring smile. “I’m sorry to hurry you dad. It’s just that Stefan still needs to work.”

“Anything for you, kiddo. Be safe and don’t for get to invite us at your place once you’re settled.” He kissed my forehead.

“I will Dad.” I hugged him tight.

“Let’s go.” Stefan honked the car.

Our family had a group hug right before I left.

In the middle of the trip, Stefan started talking.  “Mom texted me that the other boxes arrived at our house already.”

I nodded in response, not looking at his direction.  Stefan’s mom dealt with the move already and by hearing the word Boxes,  I’m gonna be tired with a tremendous amount of unpacking today.

“The house is spectacular. it is modernly designed, typical minimalist house, single storey just as you suggested and it on top of it all it has a landscaped garden.”

“Just so you know, I’m not gonna sleep in the same room with you.” I interjected.

He smirked. “ Uhmm… About that…”

I did not react.

Great, now I’m more determined to strike him.

“Hey, are you mad at me?” He asked intently. “If you want I could sleep on the couch tonight and we could just take turns using the bed.”

“We’re not even halfway towards this whole “thing” we have and you couldn’t acknowledge my request already and it’s just not that.  How is this going to work Stefan? Let’s cut to the chase, I barely know you. All I know is that you are Stefan Salazar, a real estate mogul and a certified jerk.” I rolled my eyes. “I just can’t believe I’m marrying to a complete stranger.” I sighed.

He glanced right back at me and I signalled him to get his eyes back to the road.

“Well that’s what moving in is all about; it’s for us to know each other better. If you’ll agree to my terms we can do dates just like any other normal couple.”  He winked.

“Dating …hmm… so that’s your solution.” I rolled my eyes at him and he gave a full blast smile in return.

When we arrived at the house, Adelaida was nowhere in sight. Instead a man in a suit stood just outside the house. He’s a tall, muscular built man, sun kissed skin with chestnut brown hair and I can tell that with him around,   Stefan’s mood suddenly changed. We got outside the car and he went to transfer the luggage from the trunk of the car to the house.  The man in the suit offered to help but he declined.

“Margaret Villavicencio.” The man called my name. “I’m afraid we haven’t been introduced. I’m Richard, Stefan’s cousin.” He offered his hand.

I shook his hand in return. I finally got to know who the guy Adelaida was talking about. I greeted him back .

“I am here to help. Stefan needed to be in the meeting ASAP. Adelaida asked me if I could lend you guys a hand. “
