Chapter 21~

"Good Morning," I greeted everyone in the studio, as I hurriedly rushed past them one by one. Ignoring the confused looks and glares shot at me, I clacked my shiny stilettos obnoxiously across the large room, until I came to Tyler's dad. He was ordering the staff around, with eyes glued onto a stack of papers clutched tightly in his hand.

"No no no!" He yelled in frustration. "I want that here, that over there, and those lined up in a row up front!" His arms were flailing around crazily as he pointed his finger around, making various odd movements.

I cleared my throat. "Sir, I'm here." His eyes were still trained on the workers, paying no attention to me. "It's Jessica Raymond." There was silence. I opened my mouth to repeat myself, but was cut off half way.

"Jessica!" Scowled the director, back turned to me. "What the hell were you thinking?! We're short on time. This movie needs to be finished by next month. The last thing I need reed right now is you slacking off and-" he finally looked up from his papers. What he saw was enough to shut him up for good. With widened eyes and an open mouth, he stared at me for the longest time, making the weirdest, most unbelievable expressions. "Jessica?" He seemed doubtful. "What happened to your beautiful face?"

I ignored the fact that he had just called me "beautiful."

"Well..." I let out an awkward laugh.

Pffft. Nothing happened at all. It's totally not like your good for nothing son threw a fucking basketball in my face or anything. My face just magically became bruised and swollen like this. I don't know, maybe a fairy came and peed on my face overnight? Is that why I'm so colorful? You tell me.

But I went with the shorter explanation instead. "I got hit... By a car."

"What!?" He screamed. "Are you okay?"

"Yeah, those crazy drivers." I rolled my eyes. "Teenagers these days should not drive."

His face morphed into one filled with much worry and sympathy. "Is that why you couldn't come yesterday? I'm sorry, you could've explained." He shook his head. "I should've known a responsible girl like you would not disregard your job..."

"Yeah, I mean... I was on my way here and all, when this crazy driver just hit me out of nowhere! She didn't even apologize. I ended up spending the whole night at the hos-"

"Hey guys," said Jeremy, as I felt the weight of his arm being swung around my shoulders. "What are you guys talking about?"

"Oh Jessica was just explaining how she got hit by this car last night," replied Max. "Must've been some psychopathic fan of hers."

Jeremy looked greatly amused. With a wide grin plastered on his face, he spoke loudly and sarcastically, "Of course, it's common sense that when a car hits you, it only hits your face. That's totally possible." He rolled his eyes, and added a humorless "ha ha ha."

I shot him the deadliest death glare out of all my award winning death glares. "That was the fakest laugh I have ever heard," I retorted. "Even faker than your girlfriend's plastic face."
