"By the way, my mom wanted to meet you while you were here," Mark told me as he sat at the kitchen table the next morning. "So I booked a flight for the weekend – that okay?"
I turned around to face him as the kettle was boiling; just because I had left England doesn't mean I was going to give up on my daily cups of tea. "That's fine, but...I've met your mum before." Mark sniggered, and I threw the nearest tea towel at him – some of the words I'd say always amused him.
"I'm sorry," He cleared his throat and bit his lip on a cheeky smile. "She's never spent time with you, and I want to tell them about us in person." I poured my tea and sat down opposite him.
I offered my tea to him before sipping it. "Typical American with his coffee!" He stuck his tongue out as I drank. "If you want one, you can't make it because you'll do it wrong." He brugrudgingly ate his cereal and screwed his nose up at me.
"Fine! How about the beach today, babe?" I giggled as he drank the milk out of his bowl. I nodded after he'd finished and he rubbed my hand and smiled before taking his bowl and mug to the sink. "Awesome, we'll go this afternoon, and you can ring your parents later if you want." I took my empty mug to the sink and was given a shock as Mark hugged my waist from behind, nuzzling my neck and kissing my cheek.
"I'll have to Skype them later in the week though, and Charlotte of course! She doesn't know anything yet." Mark faked an exaggerated gasp and I pushed his shoulder. "I've been a bit of a rubbish friend for not talking to her more, haven't I?"
Mark shook his head and smiled. "You doofus, she'll be fine with it – you spoke to her before you came over here, right?" I nodded and he pressed his nose to my neck. "You haven't been a bad friend, it just means you'll have more to talk about later!"
"I guess that's true," I shrugged my shoulders and smiled as he still stood cuddling me, "As much as I love your cuddles, Markimoo, I do have things to do today, and so do you." He sagged his shoulders and I giggled. "Videos before British hoes!"
This made him let go of me and trudge towards his room to get ready. "Your jokes – if they can even be classed as that – are terrible, and you should stop." He flashed his adorable lop-sided smile and went to get changed.
I entered the bedroom a few minutes later to a topless boyfriend – oh, sorry, fiancé – so I took the advantage to sneak up on him, as he hadn't heard me yet. Creeping up on him slowly, I pinched him on his sides and laughed as he flinched and immediately put me in a playful headlock. "How dare you!" He ruffled my hair and I wriggled furiously to get out "Woah, easy girl!!" He laughed as I pulled myself upright.
"You should be used to jumpscares, you big baby!" I said as I wriggled free from his reach. "Put some clothes on, you scrub, gosh." I backed away, but wasn't quick enough as he pulled me towards him and I rolled my eyes.
"Ouch! Wounded." I kissed his nose as he pressed his lips together and shook his head. I squeezed his hands and gave him a cheesy smile as I jumped on the bed and leaned against the pillow, grabbing a book – The Amazing Book Is Not On Fire, to be precise. "Should I be offended that you're reading books by them?! Other Youtubers?" He failed to hide his smile as he tugged a green v-neck shirt on.
I hugged the book to my chest as I gasped. "How dare! I'm gonna tell them you said that." I smiled coyly as I opened the book and put it in front of my face, until a certain dark-haired man in glasses pulled it down. "You should go pink again." I observed as I gently combed my fingers through his fringe.
"Only if you do it with me." He kissed me before backing off the bed and making his way to the office, leaving me pondering his offer.
