It's passed seven in the evening when we arrived home. The three was already here. When we saw Suzy, she just gave her "I'm-watching-you-look". While in the kitchen, Zoe is preparing our dinner. Guess what is our menu for the night??? It's Omurice!
During our dinner, it was revealed that 'Frankie' isn't real. I knew it! It was a made-up character by Suzy and Zieg to scare the hell out Luanne and Zoe when they were still kids. Darn, those two! They got me this time.

"I'll never give up, never give in. Never let the ray of doubt slip in."
"I swear Annika, you are singing that song the whole day!" Suzy protested.
"Chill Suzy, it's a good song." Aimee defended.
"Yeah! It's a good song, Suzy!" I concurred. "Even Aimee likes it."
"No matter how good it is, when it was played over and over again, it becomes annoying. So please stop while I still have patience."
"Wanna die? Don't tell me you're a better singer."
"Yea, bring it on Annika! Hehe."
In case you are wondering, we are in the HS Student Council Office, chilling. I love to hang-out here because it's air-conditioned. Basically, they are doing SC-stuff while I'm just here in the couch, doing my own thing.
Thanks to my boredom, I went to Aimee's table. "Hey, do you know that song?"
"Yes. I heard Zieg singing it. It's his favorite song." Aimee said.
Ohh. Interesting... Hmm..
"Oh, for real? How well do you know him?"
"A lot? He's a former classmate... and we used to be good friends, so...yeah."
"Is that so? I heard you had something - you know."
I noticed Aimee and Suzy stared each other like they were talking by just using their eyes.
"Ah yes. Ex-lovers." She said while her mood changed.
"Aaaw. Sorry."
Suzy seems to notice, "Hey Nika, stop asking such questions. It's been hard for-"
"Nah, it's okay. It's all in the past. And besides... As a new friend, she should know a little of my past right?"
Suzy just shrugged.
I said, "Ugh yes, but are you really sure? You know.... it's fine if you do not want to."
"If not now, when? It's really fine," she said, reassuring me. "For starters, I had a huge crush on him since we were in elementary. I don't really sure what it hit me, but I found him attractive. Maybe because his just a simple boy? I don't know. And then Suzy's birthday party came -"
"Ah yes, yes. That incident? My talkative cousin already told me. Ah, it's so sweet isn't?"
"Oh? It's one of the memorable days I had. Since then, people always teased us especially Suzy's parents whenever Zieg and me coincidentally in their house. And then, we became classmates, Grade 9. We were seatmates since our last names are near from each other when our teacher arranged us alphabetically.
"We used to be groupmates too. And one time, while we were doing group activity in their house, I'm surprised that he confessed to me. He brought me to their rooftop with many rose petals scattered on the floor awaited. I'm speechless, it feels like I was in heaven.
A cliche isn't? But it's every girl's dream to have their crush confessed to them. So, without further ado, we became official. Don't get me wrong, we knew each for a long time.
"Every after class, he always walked me home. It was fun because we can always think fun things to do. Plus, I feel so safe around him. Whenever we got no class, we always go to different parks in the town, and even going to other towns. And there were times that I lied to my father that we had a group activity, but the truth is I got to meet Zieg.
"However, bad things happened. Father found out that I had a boyfriend and he doesn't want Zieg to be that man. I tried to convince him, but it only sparked fights between us.
"And also, Zieg's father got sick. I salute his calmness and resilience during those times. In that very moment, I promised myself that I will support him in the best I could give to him, no matter what. Unfortunately, his dad died but it doesn't mean my job is finished. I stayed on his side in the best possible times.
"But I guess my best wasn't good enough. One day, he became cold to me. I tried to ask him and let us talk about it, but his answers were always that he is tired. I don't know what he meant by that. He got tired of what? Of everything? Or to me? Am I not good enough? Those questions were running through my head all day that time.
"And then, that day came. I got tired of his shitty excuses. And to my surprised, he said painful words to me. I don't know what just happened back then. 'Our relationship that I thought will last long... is coming to an end?' Since then, we never talked. Are all the things happened to us is just a waste? I don't even now. I still have unanswered questions in my head."
Another emotional conversation I've been to. This is what I get off being curious. But there's something in me that I want to help them. Now that I learned her side, I fully understand what happened. Each side has different and untold stories that resulted to misunderstandings and devastation.
"So, what now?" I asked.
"I don't know. Come what may. We must move on."
A weird silence.....
"Ah, I almost forgot," Aimee said, breaking the silence. "Our 'team building' was approved by the admin. It's scheduled next week. Kindly notify other SC officials. Thanks."
"Okay, I'm on it," Suzy replied.
"Wait, wait, wait, how about me?" I asked.
"You? You're not a member, so.... sorry I guess?" Suzy teased.
"Aaww. Please let me go with you guys! I really want to!"
