Chapter 26: Pretending

    It's their vacant period. The students of 12-2 Academics are free to do anything they want. Annika decided to visit the ladies' room quickly.

As she went back to their classroom, she noticed that her seatmates, Aerilyn, and Ziegfried are missing. To her curiosity, she asked one of her classmates.

"Oh, AZ went outside first, and then Aeri," Mia answered. "I don't know where Aeri went but I'm pretty sure AZ will go to the library."

"Library? For what?"

"He's always like that. You know, our class is pretty noisy. And as far as I know, I think he's disappointed to his performance to our tests. When he knew he fucked up the exams, he does go to the library to assess what went wrong."

"Geez, what a nerd!" It's the only Annika can say.

Mia laughed, "I agree! Though not seen in his looks, that's our nerdy president for you." She added, "You know, from the time when Aimee and AZ broke up years ago, I never see him date another girl. But since you came here, I believe things will change. I am very positive."

Annika is combing her hair, "What do you mean?"

"I saw your post. It made noise around the school. Who have ever thought that it's our class president is the lucky guy. I'll ship the two of you."

That statement made Annika smile.

Days before, Annika posted to her social media accounts that she and Ziegfreid are dating. She asks for respect, not only for her decision but to Ziegrfried also. By this, the speculation will stop and her angry fans will subside. She thought this is for the best of all people who were involved.

"Relax, we are just dating. Anything can happen."

"It WILL happen for sure. I'm gonna be the number one fan of your loveteam. Wait..." Mia paused for a while, thinking so hard, "Zenika."

"Huh? Zeni—what?"

"Zenika. It will be the name of your loveteam!"

Annika laughed. She didn't expect it, "You're crazy."

LIBRARY

Ziegfried sat in a cubicle, distant from the group of students that are having silent discussions about their activity while he's holding a book that is excluded from a pile of books to his desk. However, these books are useless because he seems not reading it. He is just seating there, drowned from his thoughts.

He still can't comprehend that conversation he had with Annika, days ago, about pretending to be dating...

*flashback*

They end up in Emon's Eatery after long arguments to where they will eat their lunch. They were joined by Suzy later on.

"Wait, WHAAT?" Suzy said in disbelief when she learned what happened in the VIP Canteen. "What's with the 'Love is a game, you wanna play' thing?"

"Yea, so I made a scene that the two of us are like dating," Annika said.

"And also it's a lyric from a song," she explained. It's an excerpt from a song.  "I just thought about it because it fitted in the situation."

Suzy asked, "What did you do, Zieg?"

"I'm shocked of course. I was like 'what the hell Nika is talking about."

"I must do it. They are talking bad things behind you, figuratively and literally."

"Why? What is the purpose of that anyway?" he questioned Annika for doing such a thing.
