Chapter 17

Everyone makes mistakes in their lifetime.

They either pick the wrong numbers for a lottery or the wrong tool for an operation. Everyone makes mistakes. What's my mistake? Jack Gilinsky.

We were all sitting around in the kitchen, drinking non alcoholic drinks, unfortunately because I could really use one right now, when the front door opened. It was Jack's sister Molly who was on her way to her room when she saw my face.

"BELLA HOWS MY LITTLE SISTER IN-LAW DOING?" she yelled running over to me and hugging me by my neck.

"Molly" Jack barked as she yelled the last few words.

We both ignored him and I said, "I could be better, but I can't complain right. Do you have any extra bathing suits?"

"Yes I do come on!"

Katie, Mia, Nina, Mackenzie and I followed her down the hallway and into her large room. She set her stuff down and started throwing bikini bottoms and tops at us. We quickly changed and the rest of the girls ran outside but I stayed behind and thanked Molly before leaving her to do her homework. I walked outside to see the boys still in the kitchen and the girls already in the pool.

"Are you coming?" I asked before running outside and jumping into the pool.

Not long after Nate, Sam and Jack J were running out of the house, but I could still see Jack in the kitchen.

I stayed in for a little while longer before getting out and drying off so I could go back into the kitchen to get a drink.

Jack was on the phone with someone and from the sounds of it, it was a girl. I couldn't help but listen to the conversation.

"Hi baby, I have plans for us later are you free? No I'm not going to tell you. Yes. Yes. Oh definitely. Alright I'll see you later Eve"

When he hung up I walked into the kitchen and got a bottle of water, I could feel is eyes burning into my back. I turned around feeling dizzy. I took my phone off the counter and looked at the time. It was close to 5. I grabbed my clothes off the couch and walked into the bathroom to change. When I was finished I walked back outside and asked if anyone needed a ride home, but no one did. I was still feeling lightheaded so I quickly got in my car and drove home.

I took an Advil and did my homework before changing into a tight t-shirt and shorts. I made mac and cheese and ate it up in my room while watching Stuck In Love. I got up halfway through the movie and looked at myself in the mirror. I looked pathetic, I had bags under my eyes and my hair was still the same color it was the first time I dyed it. I paused the ridiculous movie and got my car keys. I put on my converse and drove to the drug store.

It was almost empty there besides a few people and the workers. I walked to the aisle that had the hair dye and got the best quality black hair dye. I walked to the check out and got some candy thanking the girl as she rung up my items. I got back home and checked my phone before going upstairs and putting the dye in and a shower cap on. I got my phone and took a mirror selfie on snapchat with the caption: back to black. I set the timer and waited before rinsing out the dye and seeing my beautiful old black hair.

6:30 am

I woke up and put on a brown shirt that said EA$Y on my right boob, white dress pants, and my white converse. I flat ironed my hair and put it in a pony tail finishing my outfit with a white baseball cap with a picture of a sailboat on it (picture).

I walked downstairs and got my wallet, keys, my bag and phone out of the charger. I got in my car and drove down to main st. I picked up some coffee and drove to school. It was only 7 so I decided to go up to the library.

I walked through the shelves and picked out The Great Gatsby. I went to go check it out when I saw Toby.

"TOBY" I yelled.

"SHHHH" everyone around me hushed.

I blushed and took my book meeting him over by the table he was sitting at. He wasn't wearing his glasses, he looked handsome.

"Hi Bella"

"Hi Toby how are you?"

"I'm good and you?"

"I'm good"

"I like that book" he nodded towards The Great Gatsby.

"I've never read it, I was gonna start now"

He took the book from my hand and opened the book to the first page. I got comfortable and leaned on his shoulder as he started reading. His voice was soft and smooth and was making me sleepy. I was drifting off but just then the bell rung for first period. Toby folded the page he stopped on and gave it back to me.

"If I come back tomorrow will you read to me again?"

"Sure"

He walked me down the hall to English and I hugged him goodbye.

3:07 pm

I walked outside to my car and threw my bag in the backseat. I took out my keys and phone and climbed into the front seat. I turned on my car and plugged my phone into the aux cord pressing shuffle on my Spotify playlist. Paper Planes by M.I.A started playing. 

I was almost home when my phone started ringing. I turned down the music and pulled over quickly answering the call without looking at the caller ID.

"Hello?"

"Hi, is this Bella Sanders? (A/N: I forgot her last name and I don't know what chapter it's in :) don't kill me) "

"Yes. Who's asking?"

"Hi! This is Rita from Mercy Hospital, can you come in please your friend Jack Gilinsky has gotten into an accident."
