A land of millions of words. A land of a million worlds. Worlds to escape to. The words dance upon the pages in a joyous dance made for beautiful things. You might be wondering where my thoughts have gone, or even if their mine. They are mine.
See, i'm in the library. The best place a girl could be with her thoughts and when I'm at the library, I go to the poetry section. So what? That's not nerdy. Knowledge is sexy. Especially when it's all packed into such a big place.
This library is huge! Three stories high! Like ahhh!
It's a beautiful place to be on a Saturday. I'm supposed to be studying for a big test on Monday, but whoops.
Something hard slams into my back sending my tower of poetry books to the ground, me being drawn down with it. "Ow!" I yell, clutching my elbow, but my focus goes to the other person. "Are you okay?!"
"Am I okay?! Are you okay?!" the boy yells from where he's drowning in his big pile of fallen books. He starts to grumble under his breath. "Am I okay? Crazy woman. I ran into her and she's worries about me. Just no."
"I think I have rug burn." I say to myself trying to look at my elbow. I see him twist over to me.
"You think you have rug burn?" he sneers out. "I think I have a hole in my pants." He moves his leg and I slap my hands over my mouth to keep in the laughter.
The mystery mans pants torn in the...you know what area. A giggle escapes me and he snaps his head over to me. I'm sure my face is turning red. That's kinda rude of me, but it's funny! He ripped his pants from falling on the ground. In a library! Oh and he's a ginger. A pale freckled kid in this harsh world. Save him from the sun so he doesn't get burnt to a crisp. Poor, poor child.
"I need new pants! Quick! Find me some." he starts grabbing some books to cover the 'area'.
"Are those cupcake underwear?"
"Quit looking!" his eyes widen and shifts the books to cover more area. "God! Are some type of perv?!"
All the commotion starts to attract the people and by people, I mean the Bull.
The Bull is the librarian here. It seems like she's always here and always mad. I've never seen her mad at the adults, but when ever a teen enters the building, she just knows. She could be stacking books on the second floor and she would run over to the railing to look down to the front entrance when ever I walk in. She knows. She glares. She is the Bull.
A Bull that's running, A.K.A speed walking, towards us and my fear spikes. She's coming from the boys back. He can't hear that she's coming? How could he not? She's a bigger woman and these floors? Not good.
"Up, up, up. We need to go." I look to see she's getting closer and I toss the books to the side. Bye my babies! May we meet again. I get up and start to tug on the boy's sleeve. "Faster." I whisper.
"No! God you crazy lady!" He yells trying to shrug me off, but at least I get him on his feet. "Holy crap, you're like the fricken Hulk. Leave a poor nerd alone!"
"You're going to be a dead nerd if we don't run! The Bull is coming straight for us!" I grab his wrist and start winding though the bookshelves, trying to lose the Bull. I can still hear her footsteps. "Faster Ginger!"
There's the door! Almost there. Haha sucks to be the Bull. We're the teenagers that got away. Boo-Ya! That's what I'm talking about! Everyone needs to be jelly! I do a mental dance, sorta.
"Hey, girl" He tugs on my hand.
"What? We're almost home-free." I pull again.
"She's right there." He whispers and points to her standing by the door, searching the library with her eyes.
"Right. Okay. Think. We are not getting caught. She'll probably sue us for making so much noise." I pause. "Or kill us. I don't know how she feels about it really."
"Focus you mad man! We need to get out!" He yells a bit too loudly.
The Bulls head snaps to us cowering in the bookshelves and takes the first step of her march.
I automatically take off with her step, the boy in tow. I run for the bathrooms towards the back of the building. I push the boy into the girls bathroom.
"Why the girls bathroom?! The boys is just one over!" I see him roll his eyes as I lock the door.
"Because! Stop complaining! Do you want to get caught by the Bull? Huh? She's super scary! Once, I was on the computer for too long and she kicked me out. It was raining!" I shake my head at him. "You should be grateful for my help and getting you out of this, Ginger. I had other things I was going to do today." I huff and cross my arms. Jonathan. I was going to go over to Jonathan's and hang out. It probably would have been awkward knowing myself.
Then, there was a pounding on the door. "Open up you little brats! I know you came in here!" The Bull yells in. She pauses and I'm sure she presses her ear to the door.
"Excuse me, but this bathroom is for ladies." I yell out to her. I hear ginger gasp. I think I heard her gasp. Oh goodness. I love diggin me some holes...to die in.
"ARE YOU TRYING TO GET US ACTUALLY KILLED?! STOP!" Ginger yells at me.
"Let me in now!"
"Okay, Ginger. We're just going to climb out this window. Super simple, yeah?" I pull him over to the window that's just above our heads. "Now, I'll get you up there and then you help me. Sound good? Good. On three." I grab the bottom of his legs.
"Wai-"
"One.."
"You can see my unde-"
"Two.."
"What if this doesn't work? Just wai-"
"Three."
