Chapter 7

Jamari: (2 Weeks Later)

I was up reading my book while Jayonna was sleeping peacefully next to me. I was hungry and there wasn't anything to eat downstairs. I got up quietly and grabbed the money out my purse to see how much I had . I had five lose dollars and a 20 bill. I put the money back in my purse and slid on my Black leggings. I threw a hoodie over my head and grabbed my slides out the closet.

I looked over at Jayonna I think she will be good here while I leave out. I picked up my purse and opened up my window . My Dad was watching us while everyone else was gone.

I carefully climbed out the window and took the route I always go getting down the house. After I was finished I climbed over the fence and started walking only thing that was close was a Corner store so I guess I will get fat off junk tonight. It was chilly and dark outside, I walked a little faster because I think this store close at 10 and I had a couple minutes left to get there.

Soon as I walked in I started grabbing up stuff from chips to doughnuts. After I was finished I carried all my stuff to the front and the guy total all the stuff, I took out money as he did that.

"8.95". He finally said.

I pulled out a my twenty but someone reached over me and gave him the money. I turned around and it was ... Devin.

I put the twenty back in my purse and the cashier gave him his change back.

"Thank you". I said grabbing the bag off the counter.

"You welcome". He said staring at me.

I walked out the door and walked towards my house.

"Jamari". Devin said coming out the door.

"Yeah? ". I said turning around.

"It's a little late for you to be walking,I'll give you a ride". He said unlocking his car.

I decided to just get in his car and not fuss about it.

I walked to the passenger's side and got in. I wish I had a car like this he obviously  got money. I wonder what do he do?

"Where's your little sister". He said starting up the car.

"She's at home sleeping". I said looking out the window.

"Oh I still want to know why you said you wish you would've die". He said keeping his eyes on the road.

"Maybe if I fully knew you and trust you I would tell you but all I know is your Name and that you ran me over". I said lowly.

"My name is Devin ion't tell people my government name ,I'm only 18 and you probably can tell I am a drug dealer .. I have no kids nor girl because I have a hard issue of trusting .. You're lucky I'm telling you this much.. Does that help?". He said quickly.

"A little but why do you wanna know about me anyway ? Did my Brother set you up to do this.. He probably did to get to me". I said shaking my head.

"Wait what are you talking about I didn't even know you had a brother ".  He said looking at me confuse.

"So you don't know Jarnell ?". I said making sure.

"I heard of him but I never like met him". He said pulling up to my house.

"Oh well looks like I'm home". I said picking up my bag .

"Is things okay at home ? Is there anything I can do to help you?". He said as I stepped out the car.

"What are you trying to get out of me? I don't need anything I'm fine!". I said getting frustrated .

" I don't want nothing from you ,my bad for trying to have a conversation with you". He said sucking his teeth.

I shut the door and walked to the side of my house to climb up to my room. I opened the window and climbed in the window and seen Jayonna crying in my bed .

"What's wrong?". I said as I got in the window.

"I thought you left me". She said wiping her tears.

"You know I will never leave you". I said sitting down giving her a hug.

"Where you go?". She said looking down at my bag.

"The store I bought you some chips and stuff". I said dropping everything I got on the bed.

She picked what she wanted and I stood up and took my stuff off me,I notice I didn't have my purse . I must have left it in his car.

"Fuck!". I yelled loudly.

I had my little journal in there where I send prayers to god and write how I feel some days. I keep it to myself to write my goals and future.

Devin seen nosey and probably will look through, now a complete stranger know all my secrets.

I couldn't do nothing now but get some rest and probably catch a bus to his house... I kinda remember the area.

"I'm gonna take a shower you stay in here". I said grabbing my towel.

She nodded her head and I walked across the hall to the bathroom.
