I woke up immediately saddened about what happened this morning. I looked out my window and the damn blinds were closed again. I rolled my eyes and got up putting on some black shorts and a white T-shirt with black lining. I put my converse on then ran down the hall. I ignored my moms presence and just immediately went outside but I was stopped by Yeah Yeah.
"Yeah Yeah?" I questioned and he sighed.
"Benny's dead again man do you know why?" He asked and I shook my head even though I did.
"Well we all went to see him this morning and he was locked away in his room again" he said and I nodded. All of a sudden Yeah Yeah just stopped walking. I turned to see what he was looking at and it was some girl that goes to our school.
"Isn't that the Mckenzie chick from school" I asked Yeah Yeah and he nodded.
"Um Yeah Yeah I got to go" he scrambled and ran away from me and the girl. I caught up to her and walked next to her.
"Why is Yeah Yeah so jumpy round you" I asked her and she sighed.
"We had a bit of a run in" she said and I rolled my eyes.
"Please Yeah Yeah ain't like that what's up" I asked and she sighed.
"My best friend dated his friend and he had a crush on me and we dated but after my best friend died I broke up with him and uh I miss him so much but yet I won't ever admit it" she said and I nodded. So she is Jessica's best friend. We kept walking and I looked at her wrist.
"Ah cool charm bracelet the baseball looks so good" I said touching it and she flinched her arm away.
"I'm sorry it's just she gave this to me before she died and I had her date of death engraved into it and if I lost this bracelet I would loose myself" she explained and I nodded again. I looked over her outfit and saw the same old dress with flats and sweater.
"I bet you do cheerleading or some shit like that huh" I said and she looked at me.
"You talk just like Benny" she said and I laughed.
"I grew up with the blockhead" I said and she chuckled.
"How has he been you know" she asked and I sighed.
"He's really having a rough time" I said and he nodded.
"Well it's a good thing he has someone like you to keep him on his feet" she said and I listened. I liked him and he liked me I wasn't going to loose our friendship I was gonna get something better out of it.
"I gotta go" I said before running back towards Benny's house. I didn't even knock and just ran in and down the hall to his room. I tried to push the door open but it wouldn't budge.
"Leave me alone mom" He yelled out the door and I rolled my eyes.
"It's not your mom" I said annoyed.
"Still not opening the door" He said his voice cracking. I sighed and put my back against the door before sliding down onto the ground.
"I'm sorry about earlier this morning I was scared okay, yeah I know surprising Bobby scared but I'm afraid of relationships they just never work out for me. Me and my mom constantly bicker and my dad he didn't die he left when I was 5 and never came back and I had no one I can never let anyone in and when I found out you felt the same way as I did I was scared that I would loose our friendship but I realize we won't and I just I'm not going another 3 months without talking" I said. I heard the door click and I hopped up and he opened it. I sighed hugging him. I felt water on my cheeks.
"What is happening to my face" I asked scared.
"Your crying" he said and I wiped the water fountain away.
"But I never cry what's wrong with me" I said and he laughed.
"It's okay to cry Bobby" he said hugging me again and I laughed.
It's okay.
