The next morning, as Justin was walking upstairs, he noticed someone in his office. Trudy was standing next to the rather stern looking man.
"Can I help you?" Justin asked as he took his coat off.
"We're going to need to have all your detectives reevaluated, Sergeant Voight."
Justin huffed in anger. "The whole unit?"
"No, not the whole unit. Only two of them."
"Namely?"
"Halstead, Mikayla A, and Halstead, Jonah W."
"No, absolutely not."
"If they don't pass evaluation, they can kiss this unit goodbye."
"Someone only needs an evaluation if they did something wrong. Neither of those two have done a damn thing that would cause this."
"You are not supposed to get physical or pull your gun on a suspect. At least not unless there's valid reason to."
"With all due respect sir, this isn't your unit."
"Sergeant Voight, please call them in here."
"IA has always been full of rats."
"Get them in here right now. Do not make me take this down to the Ivory Tower."
The whole unit was walking upstairs, laughing about something. Justin walked out out of his office. "Jo, Mikayla. My office please."
"Why?" She raised an eyebrow.
"Yeah, what did we do?"
"IA is here."
"You've gotta be kidding me."
They walked into Justin's office. Trudy shut the door after they were inside.
"Have a seat."
Jonah sat down, leaving the other chair empty.
"Mikayla, sit down."
"I think I'll stand."
"Sit down, Ms. Halstead." The IA official said.
"Drop dead."
The official looked over at Justin. "You have been letting these two get away with things. Not to mention these are things that officers get reprimanded for."
"We're detectives. Get your facts straight."
"Is it true that you have relation to these two, detectives?"
"What does that have to do with anything?"
"Answer the question, sergeant."
"Yes. Their mother is my sister."
"Adopted or full sister?"
"Again, what does it matter?"
"Answer the question."
