Clubbing

"Alam niyo, parati nalang kayong tumatabay dito. Bakit di kayo lumabas?"

Tenten Mendoza, Alden's personal assistant who he fondly calls "Mama Ten", said as he sat on one of the couches at the latter's condo.

Alden has always made it a point to go home to Laguna no matter how late his pictorials, shootings and other commitments would finish, but as the days went by, he got even busier and busier, and going home to Laguna was beginning to be such a challenge.

The trip would usually last for around 1-2 hours (depending on his location and the traffic ugh) and as he drove, he'd always find himself falling asleep because of how exhausted he was, and siyempre nag-aalala na ang lola mo. Ayoko namang maaksidente siya. Which is why I suggested that he'd buy a condo, so things won't be so difficult for him.

I had no idea if he decided to go for my suggestion, until one day, I was surprised to see him knocking on my unit's door, one lazy afternoon, and waving a bunch of keys with a mischievous look on his face.

To keep the long story short, we were now living in the same building, but his condo was two floors up. Clingy naman nito.

"Bakit, Mama Ten? May problema ba?" Alden smiled as he served me a glass of water. He propped himself beside me in the dining room.

"Wala naman." Mama Ten replied, turning on the television. He was looking for something interesting to watch, but to no avail. "Bata pa kasi kayo, ba't di kayo mag-enjoy?" He added.

"Mama Ten, dito nalang po kami. Alam niyo naman pong hindi kami palalabas ni Alden, di ba?" I said.

The latter nodded. "Alam ko naman 'yun, Meng. Ang sinasabi ko lang, ngayon lang kayo hindi naging masyadong busy. I mean, sa gabing to, wala kayong photoshoot, walang shooting, walang kahit na ano. Kung ako sa inyo, I'll grab the opportunity."

Alden and I both looked at each other. We weren't really fond of going out, but I guess we could give it a try?

"Merong isang exclusive event ngayon sa 71 Gramercy. Inimbitahan ako ng friend kong events manager, pero tinatamad akong pumunta. Binigyan niya ako ng dalawang VIP tickets. Gamitin niyo nalang, sayang naman." Mama Ten handed Alden two, red tickets. The latter hesitated to accept them, but he did anyway.

"Ba't naman kasi kailangan naming pumunta?" Alden frowned.

"Den, maniwala ka man o sa hindi, gusto ko lang na mag-enjoy kayong dalawa ni Maine. Hindi niyo naman kailangang manatili dun ng matagal, sumayaw lang kayo ng konti, uminom, tapos bye bye! Para ma-experience niyo namang mag-clubbing ng magkasama." Mama Ten reasoned out.

Alden thought about it thoroughly. "Mama Ten talaga oh.." He said. "Gusto mo lang talagang ubusin ang lahat ng pagkain ko sa ref."

"Hoy ikaw ha!"

We all laughed as Mama Ten threw one of Alden's throw pillows towards him.

"Hoy!" Mama Ten wanted to put on a serious look on his face, but he couldn't help but laugh even more. "Hindi totoo yan ah!"
