In what felt like a million years, this was the first Friday night where I had absolutely nothing to do. No shooting, no pictorial, no anything. I felt a bit bored, but I loved the fact that I had so much free time.
I decided to stay at home after Eat Bulaga. I just lazed around all day, ate my favorite food, watched some good ol' movies, and uploaded new Dubsmash videos.
When my mom saw me lying on the couch, she couldn't help but smile.
But this Friday night was going to be a bit exciting because Alden and I were going to watch James Morrison's concert at SMX. We were both such huge fans and were ecstatic about seeing him live.
We already had everything ready. Our throats for all the screaming, our money just in case we had something to buy and of course the perfect disguise so no one would notice us. I mean, my disguise worked pretty well when I attended the Lifehouse concert.
"Anung oras ka uuwi?" My dad asked as he read today's newspaper.
"Hindi ko pa po alam eh. Iuuwi naman po ako ni Alden." I added, wearing my favorite pair of flats.
My dad put down the newspaper he was reading and took off his eyeglasses.
"May tiwala ako diyan kay Alden, pero lalaki pa rin 'yan." He said. "Basta.. mag-ingat ka lang ha?"
I approached my dad and hugged him tight. "Tay, hindi mo naman kailangang mag-alala. Mabait talaga si Alden. Walang siyang gagawing masama sa akin." I assured him. "Malinis naman po yung intensyon niya. Alam niyo naman po 'yun di ba?"
"Siyempre naman." My dad agreed. "Pero lalaki pa rin siya. Iniingatan lang kita, anak."
"Tatay.." I hugged him tighter. "Malaki na po ako at saka kaya ko na rin po ang sarili ko. Huwag kayong mag-alala. Uuwi ako dito in perfect condition."
My dad seemed to be assured enough to let me go. "O sige na, baka ma-late pa kayo sa pupuntahan ninyo." He said.
"Tay, wala pa naman dito si Alden." I laughed. "Ba't parang pinagtatabuyan niyo na ako?"
"Ay!" My dad laughed even more. "Akala ko nandiyan na eh."
Honk honk
Val, our house helper, looked outside the window and saw that it was Alden's car outside. The latter had parked his car though and rang the doorbell. Seems like he was planning on coming inside.
"Sir Aldin!" Val giggled as she opened the pedestrian gate.
"Aldin po talaga ha?" Alden laughed. He was holding a bouquet of roses yet again. Supplier kaya ng flowers itong si Alden? Parating may dalang flowers pag nagkikita kami eh.
The moment we looked at each other, he gave me the bouquet and I gladly accepted it. I gestured for him to greet my dad.
"Tito.." He shook my dad's hand and smiled quite nervously. This has been the nth time that he's met my dad but nothing's changed. He always seemed so nervous around my parents.
"Alagaan mo si Maine ha?" My dad said. "Di na ako magseset ng curfew dahil may tiwala ako sa inyo." He added.
"Huwag po kayong mag-alala, sir, ah este tito." Alden blushed as he scratched the back of his head. "Iuuwi ko po si Maine dito na nasa mabuting kalagayan."
I looked at my dad and nodded cutely.
"O sige na.. Malayo pa ang Bulacan sa pupuntahan ninyo. Huwag masyadong mabilis mag-drive, Alden, ha?"
