Author's Note: IT'S BEEN A WHILE ;__________; I'm so happy to be writing again after days of being drained out because of my academics. Anyway, here's a new short story for you to enjoy! Don't forget to comment <3

P.S. The girl who plays Maine's best friend here is purely fictional.

--

Today, my best friend is getting married.

I was so happy for her, but at the same time, I couldn't believe that it was actually happening. Parang kailan lang nag-graduate kami ng college, pero ngayon, just a few months after.. she's decided to be a "Mrs." for life.

As much as I wanted to tag along for her wedding preparations, due to my busy schedule, all I could do was text her from time to time and ask how everything was going.

Thankfully, Sandy has been very understanding of my being busy and never got upset with me when I had to cancel our plans on the last minute. But, of course, I didn't want to be that way on the day of her wedding, so I had to tell Tristan, my manager, to reschedule all my appointments on that day. Best friend duties muna ako ngayon.

"Ganda ni ate oh." I teased, when I entered her room. Sandy looked like an angel who had just fallen from heaven. Her make up highlighted her facial features very well, and her soft, long curls fell perfectly past her shoulders.

Sandy laughed in reply.

"Ikakasal ka na ba talaga?" I asked. "Uy, wala nang bawian 'to ha?"

We both looked at her reflection in the mirror and smiled. Sandy was such a beautiful bride. I couldn't wait to see her in her Rajo Laurel wedding gown.

"Siyempre naman." Sandy answered my question from earlier. "Hindi naman ako magpapakasal kung di ako sigurado." She added. I nodded, taking the seat next to her make up chair.

"Dadating ba si Alden?" Sandy asked. The moment she found out that Alden was my boyfriend, invited siya sa lahat ng lakad naming magkaibigan. Sandy has always wanted to get to know Alden more, but they've only had a serious conversation once, and it had to be cut short because of a sudden photoshoot he had to attend.

When I told Alden that Sandy was inviting him to her wedding, he told me that he had to fly to Davao for a mall show, but decided to cancel it just to be by my side on this very special occasion.

"Oo, dadating siya. Ma-lalate lang ng konti kasi galing pa sa Cavite." I said. Sandy nodded in reply.

"Ayokong maging senti ngayon, pero salamat at nandito ka, Meng." My best friend held my hand. "Alam ko namang buhay artista ka na ngayon at ang hirap mahagilap minsan, but it really means a lot to me that you're here."

I smiled gently as I put my hand on top of hers. "Marami mang nagbago sa buhay ko, pero itong friendship natin.. hinding hindi magbabago." I said. "Basta, pupunta ka din sa wedding namin ha?"

We both laughed.

"Siyempre naman. I won't miss it for the world." Sandy said. "O, sige na. Magbihis ka na. Di pwedeng mahuli ang maid-of-honor."

I nodded, hurriedly standing up from the seat. Before leaving her room, nag-beso kaming dalawa and I was off to my room.

My best friend is getting married, my best friend is getting married, my best friend is getting married. I should let that fact sink in now.

Sandy, and her husband to be Mike, agreed to have their wedding at Meditation Point in Kawayan Cove, Nasugbu, Batangas. Yes, the same place where Drew Arellano and Iya Villania tied the knot.
