Surprise! Okay, so since most of you have been so sweet and understanding, I decided I would spend my Saturday writing a pretty long update for you! I don't know when I can update again, so please don't harass me about it, but I'm hoping this long one will make up for a little bit of it! I promise, as soon as I'm done with testing, I'll be writing a lot more! <3 Thank you for your continued support and incredibly sweet comments! <3

Chapter Twenty Two

……………………

~Liam’s POV~

“Mr. Korey!” I yelled, instantly recognizing him as he entered the front doors

“Oh… you’re Brielle’s friend… I remember you” he said, clearly trying his hardest to be polite, “What’s going on?”

“Brielle wanted to talk to you herself, but please, I need you to promise me something, not just for me, but for your daughter too” I began

“What?” he asked

“Please promise you won’t hurt her, and I don’t mean just physically… Hear her out and try to be understanding because she needs support right now…” I pleaded

“Okay” he spat, “Where is she?”

“Follow me…” I said, leading him up to her room

He looked anxious, almost as if he was actually worried about her. Maybe there is a kindle of a human soul left in that man after all, and hopefully he decides to show it today.

“She’s right in there…” I said

“Urhh, thanks…” he muttered awkwardly before opening the door to her room; I decided to wait in the hallway and give her some privacy…

~Brielle’s POV~

After lying in bed and listening to every little sound for quite some time, I had become pretty skilled at knowing what footsteps belonged to whom. The ones approaching my door definitely didn’t belong to any of the boys and they didn’t sound like the petite tip-toeing of nurses or tense thuds of the doctor bringing bad news. These footsteps sounded familiar, but not the good kind of familiar… I knew who they belonged to and it made my heart race at the flashbulb memories jumping through my conscious.

The door creaked open and my suspicions had been confirmed. The man standing in front of me was my father, but there was something different about him… something that brought me back…

*Flashback*

Dad was taking me to see mommy, he told me that it was very important to tell her everything I wanted to tell her now, he told me that I couldn’t take a second of it for granted; he told me this could be my last chance.

He took my tiny hand in his large, muscular one and led me into my mom’s room.

“Hi, mommy!” I smiled, racing to her bedside.

My mother still looked like herself, but skinnier and her skin was much whiter than the last time, but she was still as beautiful as ever. She weakly pulled me into her arms and cradled me in a warm embrace, I could still smell her sweet vanilla perfume, even though she hasn’t warn it in a while.

“How are you doing, baby?” she smiled, stroking my hair, “You get bigger each day”

“Mommy, daddy told me that I should tell you everything I want to tell you now” I began

“That sounds like a good plan, honey. Go on.” She said encouragingly

“I want to tell you that you’re the best mommy in the whole world and I really want you to get better so you can come home and read me stories and tuck me in bed again” I said
