It’s almost Valentine’s Day. Every girl, even Minami is looking through magazines to buy or make homemade chocolate. After school, all the girls rushed home to start practicing.
“Minami, want me to walk you home?” Ryusei asked.
"Huh, oh no thanks, not this week, I’m pretty busy. But thanks for the offer. Maybe you can walk me home next week, bye!”
“Um, okay… bye…”
Minami quickly went to work on her homework. She got so many spare times left before bedtime and she quickly went to work on making chocolate. She made her chocolates perfectly. She made enough for every boy to have some chocolates. And she saves the best for last…
<Valentine’s Day>
Minami came to school early one morning and she handed every boy in the school chocolates so for the people that didn’t get a single chocolate would get some from her. Every boy thanked her, especially Wataru and tried to eat them. It was delicious obviously. Her friends walked up to her.
“Minami, aren’t you being to kind?”
“What do you mean? I’m just giving guys chocolates.”
“You’re so dense Minami.”
Minami was confused, “It’s just giving out chocolates, what’s the big deal?”
Her friends gasped is surprise “MINAMI, YOU REALLY DON’T KNOW WHAT VALENTINE’S DAY IS THEN! GIRL, YOU GOT SOMETHING NEW TO LEARN NOW. Minami, Valentine’s Day is about the day girls give guys chocolate to express their love… Sometimes guys I guess.”
“Oh, no wonder on White day I get chocolate from all the boys.”
“Oh Minami, learn the meaning of love can you?
During school, Minami was planning to give the last chocolate to Ryusei, but he had to leave for an urgent meeting. Minami went to find him and when she went to the office… “Oh, Ruka; he already left for his meeting.”
“Ah, thank you so much.” She bowed and left the room. Once she was out of the school, she went over to the company to wait for him. Unfortunately, the meeting ended quickly and Ryusei went home. Of course Minami didn’t know that, so she has waited for nearly 2 hours. Minami wondered where he went so she went in and asked if she could see Ryusei.
“Ryusei you’re looking for right?”
“Yes.”
“Are you a fan or something?”
“Huh? Oh no, I’m a friend of his.”
“Friend; Well, even if you’re looking for him, he went home already.”
“Oh, thank you for the notice.”
Minami walked outside and went to Ryusei’s house. He wasn’t home because he had one more job to finish. She Minami gave up. She placed her bag of chocolates, the one that’s best for last, on his door knob.
Ryusei just got back home and saw something on his door knob. He looked inside and there were some chocolates and a mini card. He picked it up and read it “Hey Ryusei, don’t just stare at the chocolates. I know you love chocolates so just eat them already ^^v”
Ryusei chuckled and looked at the chocolates. He opened the box and saw 4 pieces of chocolates. He picked one up, creamy milk chocolate with caramel in it, and ate it. His face reacted with delight and he picked another one up; a regular milk chocolate. He was thinking that he should thank her for this…
Minami and her friends were chatting and when Ryusei walked in the room, Minami giggled.
“Why are you giggling?”
“Oh, nothing; I was just thinking of something funny.”
“Oh okay...”
“Okay class, as you know, graduation is next month. So by the end of the Tuesday, I want all of you to hand in your college applications. Do you all understand?” Sensei asked.
“Yes Sir.”
“Homeroom is dismissed. Go to your classes now.”
As all the students were going to their classes, Ryusei just realized that after graduation, he has to say goodbye to Minami as his ‘girlfriend’. All day he was spaced out and was barely paying attention in class. He was thinking about the past moments he spent with Minami and he was certain that Minami was the one who placed the chocolates on his door knob.
After class ended, and when it’s time to go home, Ryusei was thinking. Once he got home, he realized he is forgetting something that he wanted to do. “Oh that’s right, I got to thank her.” He walked out the door and went to Minami’s house. He rang the doorbell and someone went to the door. It was Minami’s father acting drunk and try to act tough.
“Um, you must be Minami’s father, am I correct?” Ryusei asked.
“Yea so; you got a problem with that?!” Minami’s father yelled.
“Ah, no I don’t… but is she home?”
“Hah? Are you a stalker?!”
“No, I’m her…” He doesn’t want to say boyfriend because it’s fake.
“Who are you?!”
“I’m her friend.”
“Friend you say? Well, she is not home; she went out to karaoke with her friend.”
“Oh okay, thanks for the notice.”
“Yea, whatever… Good bye now!” And he slammed the door in front of him.
“Wow…” with a shocked reaction. “I guess I can’t thank her today.”
As he was walking home, Minami got out of a karaoke place and saw Ryusei. She called him, “Ryusei!!!”
Ryusei turned and saw Minami. “Oh Minami, you’re done singing?
“Yea, I guess you can say that.”
They both laughed and went to a bench to sit.
“Thank you Minami, for the chocolates.”
Minami laughed, “You’re saying that now? It’s kind of late don’t you think?”
Ryusei also laughed, “Yea you’re right.” After that, Ryusei’s face got serious, “You know we are departing… Graduation is coming in 15 days.”
Minami’ face also got serious, “Yea I know. I don’t want to think about it or for it to end, but I think that it’s best to stay away from each other till graduation.”
“What are you talking about?”
“I’m sorry; it’s painful for me to see you when we have to break up soon. Obviously it’s fake. I had fun and remembered all those memories we made, but it’s painful to see you leave and whenever I see you, I remember these memories. Plus, I was glad to help you because you’re a celebrity and actually, I’m a fan of you. If you know that already, then that’s cool that you do. But since I had fun with you in the past, these memories makes me think of you… Sorry, and goodbye for now…”
“What…?”
