Chapter 19: Days Gone By
Another day of school,
But today was different.
After school,
He came after me,
Running,
"Hey Rachael," he said heavily.
"Hey," I replied.
"Please go away," was all I was thinking.
"Umm, are you walking home?" he inquired.
"Yeah, I'm busy so I'm in a hurry. Bye."
I started walking away, but he,
Followed my footsteps.
"Why don't I help you,
Since your so busy,
Two work faster than one,"
he pressed on.
" Then, maybe, I can
Walk you home."
God, why is he so presistent.
"No thanks. I'm okay," I said as I continued walking.
"But I can be of some real help,
No matter what it is," he said franticlly.
I stopped in my steps, and,
I just blew.
" I said I don't need your help! What do you not get!" I yelled.
Now he stopped too,
and in a timid voice said,
" I'm sorry."
I felt horrible,
Like a rock dropped down on my lifeless heart,
And smashed it into even smaller fragments,
Than it already was.
"Umm, how about next time," I said after calming down.
He seemed reengerated and exclaimed,
In the tone of a 9 year-old child who just got ice cream,
"Yeah! Okay!"
And then we went our seperate ways.
