Chapter: Mom & Dad

"Umm, hi,"

Jacob said awkwardly.

"Hey..." I replied.

As things were getting weird, Sarah came up to me and asked if I wanted to play house with her.

"Sure dear," I said happy to break our tension.

Then, she grabbed Jacob.

"You play daddy!" she commanded of Jacob.

"Rachy! You play mommy!"she commanded me.

What...? What? What!?

God, this was embarrassing,

Jacob had a smirk on his face,

And I could obviously tell, he was enjoying this,

A lot.

"Umm, sure.." I said not wanting to,

Hurt her feelings.

As she made me prepare a pretend dinner,

She was telling,

"Daddy" her day,

At school.

When I was,

"finished making dinner,"

we ate everything.

Now it was,

"pretend bed time,"

we said our goodnights,

And when Sarah said,

That me and Jacob,

Needed to hug each other,

I almost choked,

On my own spit.

"No, Sarah,

That going a bit too far,"

I told her.

"You HAVE to,"

she said stubbornly.

Jacob had been silent,

The whole time.

"No," I said sternly.

"Yes!"

she yelled at me.

"Fine! One hug,

And no more house,"

I told her.

"Fine!"

she accepted grudgingly.

I wasn't really thinking,

about what I said,

As long as I won,

But when reality hit me,

it wasn't pretty.

I started to shiver a little,

And then shake a bit,

"You okay Rachael?" Jacob asked.

"Y-yeah...let's

Get this done and over,

With," I replied.

"Okay," he said emotionlessly.

As I got closer,

And he got closer,

My heart was beating,

With a non stop consistency,

Was I about to die?

And finally,

As we hugged each other,

Goosebumps started to form,

And I pushed him away.

Pretending to act like nothing happened,

I smiled at Sarah,

And left.

As my volunteer hours were over,

I was shaking as I went outside,

I hated the contact so much,

I felt like vomiting,

Crying,

Anger,

So many emotions,

That I wished would go away,

But are buried in the depths so deep,

That they are untouchable.
