Chapter 25: My Winter Break
Finally!
Winter break has finally come!
I don't think I've ever been half as happy,
I'll be leaving school,
And Jacob.
It feels a little empty,
But I've felt worse,
A lot worse.
When I look at people today,
I feel pissed,
A lot.
Life seems so unfair,
For me.
This is one of the reasons,
I love children.
They aren't subjected,
To what adults know as reality,
It's different for them.
The way they smile,
Play,
Everything.
I can't go back,
But they still have a chance.
Anyways,
I'm going to be volunteering,
At a child care center.
This is my first time,
And I'm really excited
(Which I haven't been,
In a long time).
~Sunday~
I walked in the care center,
And heard a million kids,
Screaming at the top of their lungs.
I was so excited,
To be in such,
A change in environment.
I didn't need anyone to question me,
Or who I am.
I went up to the lady who was sitting in the front desk.
"May I help you?"
"My names Rachael. I signed up early to volunteer."
"Great, thanks for coming."
The lady's name was Mariam,
She showed me around,
Play with the kids and such.
At the end of the tour she said,
"There is also three other guest helpers,
That will be coming today,
In about 30 mins. Or so,
Please feel free to get to know them,
And I hope you have a wonderful time."
I started to mess around with tue munchkins for a while,
Till I heard the sound of a bell ring,
Telling everyone someone had entered.
I easily guessed that it was the other helpers,
As I stood,
Two girls entered,
And the last one a guy.
The two girls where gorgeous,
But when the guy came in,
I was dumbstruck.
'Why the hell is Jacob here!?' I screamed internally to myself.
As Jacob walked in,
Our eyes locked,
Both of us staring blankly at each other.
