Rumples POV

Hearing polite little taps on the door made me wake. I used to be a deep sleeper, but now any noise can break me from the little sleep I was having.
Looking over into Noah's cot I see her fast asleep. The morning sun rays are trying to shine through the gaps in the curtain, but I sort that out quickly, pulling them tightly together.

The knocking came again.
No louder and still not aggressive.

I don't know why they continue, they know I'm not going to open it.

The knocking came again.

Leave me alone.

More knocking.

STOP.

With a flick of my wrist and a whirl of purple smoke I was outside the front door, a shocked Snow stood in front of me.

"WHAT DO YOU WANT?!" I yelled.
She stood back, shocked.

"Well don't look so shocked, you are knocking on my door," a familiar sarcastic giggle rang out of my mouth.
Snows eyes widened.
We both know what that voice means.
I even shocked myself a little.

"Gold, I....I....I just came t...t..."
"W, w, w, what?! Spit it out," I mimicked her nervous stutter.
Her eyes grew angry, she shook her head.
"What would she think of you...." She mumbled, looking at the ground.
"Don't you dare speak about her!" I lunge forward and grabbed her neck.
"Gold-" she struggled.
"You have no right to talk about her!" I shook her.
Red took over.
How dare she.
How dare she think Belle would judge me.
How dare she.

Thinking that was I enough I threw her to the floor.
"Now leave, and take this as a warning, if you, or any of your family try and come here again, I will not hold myself back," and with that i curled my fingers and I was back in the darkness of my bedroom.

I sat myself down on the bed.
What did she tell you Gold, breathe.
Calm yourself down.

I look up and catch my reflection in the mirror.
Long tangly hair, crazed eyes and glistening skin faced me.
I blinked hard.
Gone.
The face of a small, weak, depressed old man remained.
What's happened to you.
Where is the old spirit you used to have? That same glint in your eye at the opportunity of a deal, the smile on your face as magic surged through your veins. Where is that man? Where has he gone? He made an appearance no less than a minute ago, but now, now he is gone.
He needs to come back.

Standing up, moving to be in front of the mirror.
With a wave of my hand, my suit disappeared and was replaced with my leather trousers and puffy silk top underneath my crocodile skin waistcoat.
I let out a little giggle, my confidence coming back to me.
Much better.
Now.
Time for a little outing me thinks.

After putting a protection spell over Noah's crib, for the first time in months, I left my house.

I appeared just outside the sheriff's station, only to see the Charming family all inside.

"Talking about me again are we?" I appeared in desk chair, my legs up crossed on the desk as I leaned back in the chair.
"Gold! You gave me heart attack!" Emma span round, eyes wide, holding her heart.
I waggled my finger,
"Wrong dearie, Mr Gold has gone, it's just me," I opened my arms wide and grinned.
"What the hell are you doing G-"
"Say that name again and you'll be in hell," I finished it off with a loud satisfied howl.
"And why has, Rumplestiltskin decided to make an appearance?" Regina folded her arms, emphasising my name.
"Life was getting a little - dull?" I inspected my finger nails.
"Dull?! Your  wife died!" Charming shook his head.
Holding my hand in a U position, Charming started to gasp for air.
"Gold - stop it! Stop it!"
"Uh-uh dearie, what did I say about the name," I sang.
David's hands were around his kneck, Snow at his side.
"Stop! Please, stop I'm begging you!" Snow pleaded, giving me stressed looks.
"Give me a reason," I sighed.
"What do you want Gold? Do you really have to do this? Just tell us?" Regina sighed.
"I dunno.... The Phlyxier?"
Everyone in the room went silent, except for the choking Charming.
Regina straightened up, her arms dropping from her waist, her mouth gapping slightly open.
"Why do you want that?" Regina's tone was serious.
"That doesn't matter much to you, but his life does?" I tightened the grip.
"What in the world is a Phlyxier?!" Emma was darting looks at Regina and I.
"A Phlyxier has the ability to go back in time, to wherever the holder wants to go," Regina breathed.
Emma frowned, "why did you need that?"
"Personal reasons," I winked.
David was an unhealthy shade of red.
"Regina please, just give it to him," Snow pleaded.
Regina was very hesitant.
"You do realise what will happen if he gets hold of it?" Regina, shook her head.
"Regina?" Emma urged her on.
"It won't just take the holder back in time, but everyone," Regina said gravely.
"Well done, you know I admire the man that taught you all you know - oh wait, that was me," I winked.
"Why Gold? You are really going to throw away our happiness for your own?" Regina was angry.
"Of course," I leaned forward, my voice low and threatening all of a sudden.
"He's not got long left - Regina!!" Snow was clutching Charming.

Regina threw up her hand and we were in her vault.
"Ah you decided to let your brats grandfather live, well done you," I let my hand relax, the grip on Charming gone.
"Now give me The Phlyxier."

"You're going back for her aren't you," Regina said quietly.
A sharp pang flew across my heart.
Her.
"No time for idle chat dearie, just do it," I brushed her off.
"What are you going to achieve? All this will happen anyway? No matter what happens, Belle will still die," she said gravely.
"That is where you are wrong, unlike all of you, I will remember everything that has happened and prevent all of this!" I laughed.
"But you gave me the curse? Will you not do that?" She questioned.
"And have this happen all over again of course not!" I replied.
"Now if you want your family to live," with a flick of my wrist I showed Regina what was happening at the Sheriffs station.
Emma, Snow, Charming and Henry were all clutching their throats, fighting for breath.
Regina gasped.
"You wouldn't - that's your family!" She yelled.
"No more your family than mine!" I giggled.
She shook her head.
"That is your grandson!" She seethed.
"Mmh?" I nodded.
"You're evil," she closed her eyes in disgust, before moving over to a draw and removing some keys.
With those keys she opened a draw, to take out and old box.
"Everything you need is in there?" She said opening it, shaking the contents.
"Hmm...yes, it is all there, now let me ask, how did it get into your hands anyway?" I asked.
"The first curse," she refused to make eye contact with me.
"Fair enough," and with a click of my finger, I and the box were gone.
