Rumples POV
The last of the purple magic cleared and Belles distraught face appeared.
"...Belle, look-" I raise my arms up.
She closed her eyes almost in pain as I said her name.
She was shaking.
The dagger too.
She won't do anything stupid.
I, I, I know her.
"A new start....a new life?" The tears kept streaming down her face.
"And....I almost believed you," she laughed for a second through tears.
"I was telling the truth - we can - we will!" my eyes didn't leave the dagger.
Her face screwed up.
"After what I just saw you doing? Rumple - what if I hadn't of got there? What if...." She was so upset she can't speak.
"It would be for the best! I promise! I've changed..." I took a step toward her.
She raised the dagger higher, flinching.
She's scared of me.
Terrified even.
Oh no Belle...
"You haven't...you haven't changed Rumple," she shook her head.
"I did! I just....just had a little, a little mishap that's all - but, you, I need your help - you can get me going in the right direction - again," I reached my arms out for her.
"Darling....."
She tried blinked back all the tears, but there was too many.
"You've never being going in the right direction....I thought I could help you....but, I,I,I can't.... I'm not strong enough..." She stuttered.
My hearts breaking.
Belle is the strongest person I know - she can't doubt herself.
"...Belle, just, just put the dagger down," I reached out for it.
She lifted it up, out of my reach.
"Belle, give me the dagger," I got firmer.
"No, I'm not doing what you tell me, not this time - I'm not your puppet anymore Rumple...." My heart dropped.
No.
My puppet?
She can't think that!
My Belle, my darling, darling Belle.
I just want to crash into her arms and have her hold me.
But I can't.
I'm losing her.

Belles POV
I'm uncontrollably shaking.
I don't know.
What can I do!
Should I do everyone else a favour and send him across the line, out of their lives, out of mine?
But I'd loose him, for good.
Am I willing to do that?
Or am I being selfish?
He is a danger to others and himself - but I still love him.
"How could you do this Rumple? To me, to Noah?" My voice cracked.
His face twitched as if I'd slapped him across the face.
"How is she going to feel when she finds out her father is a murderer? I don't know what I'd do if one day she came home having listened to rumours about you?" It hurts to think about.
"That's why we need to leave!"
He's scared.
"I can't, not with you...." My voice chocked and I had to close my eyes to try and stop the pain that felt like my heart ripping in two.
"...Belle...?" His voice was a rasped whisper.
"We can still go, now, right now!" He urged.
"But what...what if, Rumple if you hurt...."

Rumples POV
"But what....what if, Rumple if you hurt...."
She couldn't look at me directly.
She thinks I could be capable of hurting her....
Tears starts to fall from my cheeks.
She should no I'd never hurt her.
Ever.
Not ever!!!
"Belle i would NEVER hurt you!" The hurt in my voice showed.
"But...how do you know that? One day, I could say something wrong, or, or, maybe I do something that upsets you, or...or you just stop loving me...?" Her voice faltered.
What she said next broke my heart.
"If you ever did at all..."
Belle has been the only girl in this world that I truly have ever loved. Yes I might have loved Mila once, but nothing can match my feelings for Belle. I have never said this out loud, because I thought I didn't believe in it, but she's my true love.
My true love.
The only thing in this world that I hold dear to me.
And now I'm losing her.
"You think.... I don't love you...?" The pain in my chest grew.
She gulped and her shoulders lifted.
"After everything - everything we've been though?! I don't love you?" It was my turn to shake my head.
"...how many times have I lost you..." She lowered the dagger.
I feel like any minute she's just going to break.
And she thinks I won't be there to catch her if she does.
"Too many...." I admitted.
What's she going to do?
Suddenly, Belle gave up.
Her whole body went limp and the dagger fell to the ground.
"I'm done..." She shook.
I stared at the dagger on the ground.
What is she doing...?
"...I'm done..." Her voice was barely a whisper.
"What are you saying...?" I looked up at her.
"You need to go.. Or I will."
