Chapter 15

Calum

"What the hell did you put in them?" I snapped at Ali. She rolled her eyes and showed me the inslin.

Vinil 203 - Animal Put Downs

"You injected them with that thing to put animals to sleep? You might as well have shot them instead!" I shouted

"Oh relax, the vinil isn't as strong on human as it is on animals. They'll wake up in a couple hours." She hissed.

"How do you know that! You probably killed them!" Michael screamed. Bella's cries were heard from the other room, "I'll go take care of that, I need to go see where Ellie is anyways." Arden sighed. "I'll help." Jemma voluntered.

"I'm-I was, studing to become a forensic filist. It's just a fun fact I learned at Uni." She shrugged. Michael and I glanced over at each other nervously, "They'll be fine. Stop worrying. Look, both of you were sturggling and I don't blame you. Calum woke up from whatever coma thing that was, Michael you're still injured from that fall from the other day."

"Relax-" Ali was cut off by Jemma and everyone else pilling in the room.

"Um guys, We can't find Ellie." She but her bottom lip. I knew Jemma and Ellie were pretty close so I couldn't imagine what she was thinking but God, I was terrified. She can't be out there alone.

"Search the woods. Michael and Ali should stay here. Jemma search the back farm. Arden search near the woods." We headed out to our directions, supplying ourselves with weapons and any medical aid just imcase she's hurt.

With every step that I took, my lower side kept bothering me. I stopped for a second and rollled up my shirt.

A large scar stuck on my body. It wasn't the bullet hole from a month ago, it was the walker bite. It seemed so infected, but it wasn't. I fought through the pain. I stopped in front of the large barn doors and kept my gun in hand.

I pushed it open and scanned the area. It was empty except for the sniffling coming from the upper level, "Up here." A voice shakily called out. I didn't have to say anything for Ellie to know it was me.

I climbed up the ladder, placing my gun in my back pocket and taking a seat on the hay next to her, "Hey." I broke the silence. "Hi." She whispered.

"Ellie, I know it's not just what Ashton said to you that's bothering you."

"Your right, it's not." She hiccuped.

"Explain." I pushed the hair from her face. She smiled softly, "Cal, everywhere I go I'm the problem. I cause the problems. I get people killed because my stupid fucking self ran away from that facility."

"Ellie it's not your fault, you're only trying to protect yourself." I shoke my head. "Yes it is Calum. I need to get awa-"

Then I kissed her.

"Cal-"

"I shouldn't have done that, I'm sorry."

I got up only to be face to face with a heart broken Luke.

:) hey everybody (pun intended) hope you liked todays chapter! There's not really much to say about the chapter but I do want to talk about the recents events that have been happening in the real world.

It's scary to know that stuff like this happens and even scarier to know that some of you live around that area. Please be safe.

I don't want to get into too much detail but I just wanna say please don't take life for granted. I thought long and hard about this last night and realised that I take life for granted. I complain about school, food, and things that I get when I should be grateful.

Life is so precious, don't throw that away. Say thank you.
