Ellie

"...L-luke I-" I could barley manage to make out. "N-no, sorry for invading your privacy. I should go. Bye." He stumbled out. He ran out the barn before I could choke out another word.

Stupid Calum.
Stupid Luke.
Stupid world.

Rule Number One
Never get to close

Rule Number Two
Never fall in love

Rule Number Three
Never trust

Three rules that I managed to break. I sat on the floor, staring at nothingness. Calum muttering to himself on why he's such an idiot. I didn't stop him though, the fucker deserved it.

"You know," I spoke cutting Calum off. "It's funny really, I had three rules that I made for myself so I can survive in this damn world. It's logical, really." He only stared at me to continue. "Would you like too know them?"

He only nodded, probably expecting the worse. I was bringing out a side to me that I didn't even know I had. I guess being in that captivity does something to you. "Rule number one, don't get too close. Rule number two, don't fall in love. And finally, rule number three, never trust. Three rules in which I broke because I thought I finally found a family. But guess I was wrong."

I didn't even realise I was crying at this point. I just wanted to be with Luke. Fuck, no one even knew we were together.

I was informed by Luke that they found Ellie. Thank God, I was about to beat her ass if I was the one who found her. Although, he seemed off. I knew it wasn't long ago he awoke from that thing Ali had injected him with.

Bella's gurgles snapped me out of my thoughts. I smiled at the small infant. We played with some toys that she had until we both started feeling tired.

"C'mon kiddo, time for bed. It's getting late." I picked her up, changing her diaper first then heading towards the room her and Ellie shared. I was walking up the stairs when Michael stopped me.

Oh boy

"Hey Jem, we're thinking about raiding another area tomorrow. Wanna be my partner? I know it's kinda awkward but I really hate this silence we have going on..." I smiled at him. " Of course, just tell m-"

Ashton came running in throwing each of a gun, "Get Bella as far as you can from here. Now." He demanded loading the gun.

"What? Why?!" I screamed starting to get scared and it wasn't helping when Bella bursted into tears.

"The barn is on fire, attracting zombies."

"Where's Calum and Ellie?!" Arden came rushing in.

"They're still in the barn.."
