I could see the creature creeping up behind me. It was hairless except for the occasional short, black strand. Large, catlike eyes stared at me and its mouth was open in a cruel grin, revealing sharp, bloodstained teeth. The thing looked a bit like a mixture between wolf and human. I was frozen, in a way, helpless as it advanced towards me. It appeared swift, but crept slowly and silently as if to torture me with the thought of it reaching me and tearing me to shreds. I wished I could move, turn around, stop it. It crept closer on its slim limbs, tipped with sharp claws. I screamed in my head, trying to force myself to move. But I remained still, even my face was frozen in a blank stare. It had nearly reached my heel and within my head I cried out in despair. I wished I was more than just a mere reflection.
