Its fascinating, the way children will hide under the covers at night believing they are protected from the evil lurking in the dark. Its fascinating because they're right. A person is only vulnerable to the intrusion of other people when they hide beneath the covers, the monsters are kept at bay.
What I find interesting however is how this belief fades, how the parents tell their little ones that theres nothing to be afraid of, and that they don't need to hide. Honestly, its a rather delicious irony. The children are safe regardless, we don't eat them.
But we do eat their parents.
