12:50am
vienna price raced out of the room with her heart pounding against her chest in sheer terror. it was only then that her thoughts shifted back to the old legend jane had told the girls about. vienna thought it was a lie, just an old story people told to scare children. but perhaps is was true. perhaps bloody harry was real, and they had summoned him.
who else, if not bloody harry, could do something like that?
if they were trapped in that hospital all night, she knew they were easy prey for a spirit who killed for sport.
the heiress ran down the hallway from the control room and reached the stairs in a matter of seconds. her feet carried her in a rush down the stairs where there were only two girls left in the lobby. jane and nancy were missing.
"vienna!" glenda gasped when she saw the distraught heiress.
they all knew vienna price to be a person who was very taunting and hypocritical. very rarely would they see her afraid. but now she was more than afraid, she was utterly mortified.
"where is jane?" she asked her two friends. "we need to get out of here right now."
"she went to the attic." susannah explained. "she said there was a control panel up there and that she could use it to open the doors. but she left about twenty minutes ago. they should have gotten there by now."
jane.
vienna thought about it. jane knew the hospital like the back of her hand. what if jane was behind all of it, just to scare the life out of vienna? but would she be capable of killing people for it? the heiress had to wonder just who was really behind the death of the person she had hired to keep watch in the control room. the most logical explanation was to say someone, a human was doing all of it.
once ruled out all the possibilities then she could assume something supernatural was happening.
12:57am
the way to the attic was a long one. the hospital had about thirteen floors, plus the lobby, the attic, and the basement. the elevator wasn't functional; her family had been working to get it fixed, but it always ended up getting stuck.
they had to take the long way up to the attic.
jane was leading the way up the stairs. they were on the eleventh floor when she turned around and saw no one behind her. she was certain she had heard nancy's footsteps just seconds earlier and now there was only silence that was broken by her heavy breathing.
shining the light of her cellphone on the steps below, she called, "nancy..."
but there was no answer.
from the set of stairs above her, she heard steps against the concrete stairs. but she knew that couldn't be the girl that was accompanying her. no, that had to be something else. a non-human entity probably.
quickly overcome with fear, she ran the opposite way, the same way she had come. jane would return to the lobby and hope than nancy was okay.
but she knew it was starting.
and one by one they would all perish to bloody harry.
