3:16am

"nancy?" susannah gulped back her fear at the sight of her.

the girl standing at the other side of the bar table nodded her head slowly, but said nothing to her friend. on the couches nearby, the three other girls remained fast asleep, oblivious to what was happening with the girl who was supposed to keep watch.

"what happened to you?" susannah wondered. "vienna and jane said you were dead. they saw you die." but there she was, standing before her. that had to mean jane and vienna were wrong. perhaps their eyes had fooled them in their terror when they fled the scene. nancy was indeed alive, and she looked completely fine to suse.

nancy gave a shake of her head, offering an explanation, "they just ran off without even trying to help me. but i was able to escape on my own and i have been wandering the hospital, trying to find my way back to the lobby. on the way here, i found an exit."

"really?" susannah's eyes widened with excitement. the thought of finally getting out of that hospital was something she had been hoping for hours. but it was also something she didn't think would happen. with all the horrible things they were experiencing at the hospital, susannah doubted they would make it out of there alive. now, nancy 's words were serving to give her some hope. "we should wake the others and tell them the good news. we can finally get out of this place so we don't have to worry about bloody harry." susannah hurried around the bar table and took a few steps in the direction of her sleeping friends, but she was held back by nancy's hand gripping her arm.

"no." nancy said with wide eyes and her voice coming out in something of a nervous panic. she shot a glance over her shoulder to make sure the other girls were still asleep. her conversation with susannah had done nothing to disturb their sleep. "they left me alone, i don't want them to come with us."

"what about glenda?" susannah asked yet another question. jane and vienna had been the ones to leave nancy to fend for herself, thinking her dead. they were the ones who were only thinking of themselves when they ran off, and it wasn't fair to leave glenda behind when she had done nothing wrong. she decided to tell nancy what she was thinking. "glenda is our friend. if we leave her behind, then we'll be just as fucked up as jane and vienna." she argued, trying to convince the girl they had all thought was dead.

nancy sighed, biting her lip, as she thought for a moment. she debated whether or not to tell her friend of a secret she knew, and she finally decided it was time to confess it. "suse, i feel bad telling you this now, but you should know it. glenda never liked you, okay? every time you would leave and it was just her, vienna, and me, she always talked shit about you. you know," she continued, "she told us she was dating your boyfriend kylian behind your back. and she told us not to tell because she would make us look like liars, since you and her are super close. glenda doesn't deserve our friendship."

susannah stood there with her mouth agape for a moment. she couldn't believe that glenda, who was her closest friend in vienna's little group, could do something like that to her. nancy and vienna were closer to each other than to her and glenda. susannah always thought that if one of them were to betray the others, that it would be vienna price. she seemed like the type who would be willing to betray anyone for her own personal gain.

but it suddenly made sense to her that glenda and kylian were seeing each other behind her back. glenda had been having a hard time with their french classes, or so she claimed, and kylian had moved to the united kingdom from belgium and spoke french perfectly. susannah had been the one to set up their tutoring lessons, and now she thought about how stupid she had been. she had helped them get together behind her back.

now she wanted nothing to do with glenda, or any of them. she grabbed a flashlight from a utility drawer nearby, as well as a handgun from the coffin shaped box vienna had showed them in the beginning. then, giving a nod of her head, she said to her friend, determined to leave without the three other girls, "let's get out of here, nancy. let's leave these bitches behind."

nancy smiled, and her eyes darkened, but suse didn't notice at all.
