3:34am

vienna and glenda followed jane to the back part of the vast lobby where there was a metal door. it was open because susannah had just gone past it moments earlier. the door led them down some creaky metal stairs with black railings on each side. there was no light available for them, and they used their flashlights to illuminate the way.

the two girls accompanying jane gasped at what they saw. it was an old basement, with several glass cases in the room, like a museum. jane always hated that room because of the way it was used by the doctors in the hospital.

with the lights turned off, they couldn't see much of what was there. jane led them quickly to the back where there was another door. that was the worst part of the hospital, because the next room was where the biggest number of people died during the time in which the hospital was open. it was the one room jane had never been into because the mere thought of it sent a shiver down her spine.

3:40am

the room nancy had taken susannah to was a narrow room with stone ovens on each side. each of them had limited space inside them, just enough for one body to fit in it. nancy led her friend to the last one in the back and gestured to it, saying, "there's a secret latch all the way in the back of this oven, and it takes you down to the sewers. the sewer tubes lead out of the hospital."

susannah furrowed her eyebrows. she was begining to have her doubts about nancy. "how did you find this?" suse wondered.

her friend replied with a shrug of her shoulders. "i told you i was snooping after i escaped bloody harry, so get in there. i'll be right behind you."

susannah let out a shaky breath, debating on whether she should trust nancy or not. perhaps she could ask her a question that only nancy would know the answer to. then she would be sure if this was really her friend. "nancy..." she began nervously, getting the other girl's attention. "what is the name of kylian's younger brother?" the only ones who had met antoine were her three closest friends, and that was because she had been video chatting her boyfriend who had returned home for a few days and she was at a sleep over with vienna and the other girls.

nancy didn't even bother to answer the question and susannah was now convinced that wasn't her friend. but it was too late because nancy grabbed her by the throat and pushed her against the hard stone until she passed out from the blows against her head.

3:46am

jane's hand grabbed the knob when they reached the door and she twisted it slowly, hesitating for a moment. from behind her, vienna rolled her eyes and let out a groan. "hurry up, hündin." the heiress barked at jane. it seemed that when vienna was angry, she had a tendency to curse in german. it was the language she had learned from her mother who was from austria, more specifically the capital of the country which she named her daughter after. pushing jane out of the way, she grabbed the door knob and got the door open. "we need to find suse. if she's going to die, i want to at least apologize for sleeping with her gorgeous belgian boyfriend kylian."

glenda let out a gasp. "so that's why he stopped tutoring me in french? he told suse he was studying with me."

vienna gave a shrug of her shoulders. "i said i was sorry, and besides, he wasn't good in bed anyway. but those icy blue eyes and that french accent had me coming back to him." propping the door open with her arm, she finally added, "i let him go anyway because he was getting to romantic and serious with me."

one of the girls, glenda, took a whiff of the air and said to the two girls who were with her, "doesn't something smell like its burning in there?"

jane felt her heart drop the moment she caught the scent in her nose. she knew they were too late to save susannah. when vienna was able to smell it, her blue eyes widened in terror. she looked into the room and in the back was bloody harry, his face illuminated in an orange glow as he watched something burn to ashes in the ovens of the hospital.

it was like he sensed their presence when he slowly turned in their direction, a dark smile on his face.

vienna let out a shrill scream off the top of her lungs, jane and glenda soon did the same.
