My eyes shot open, I found myself shaking and covered in sweat. Everything around me was still blurry, I tried looking around trying to figure out where I was. This place did not at all look like my room, nor did this bed feel like my own. Confused, I sat up finding myself to immediately regret that decision as pain shot through my whole body. Something is definitely wrong with me and I couldn't figure out why. So I would do what any person who was in pain and confused would do, lay there until either something comes up or someone tells me. Looking straight ahead at the ceiling wondering what could have happened, I had no memory of any sickness that I could recall, besides the pain that just shot through me. What confused me the most was that the place had a strong medicinal smell, like when you walk into a pharmacy. As I try to put the pieces together, I hear someone come in. Turning my head toward the noise I see a figure. A figure that was now walking towards me, I started to panic. I had the right to panic, I mean I didn't know who that is, not to mention that fact that I have no idea where I am and what happened. Trying my hardest to ignore the pain that shot once more, I sat up and swung my legs to the side of the whatever I was laying on. I jumped off and tried to stand, but my knees were too weak, I wobbled and almost fell over if it wasn't for the figure, who for some reason, caught me. I turn my head around, now faced to face with the figure. I tried to push away the figure, but failed due to my lack of strength, I now notice that I was very weak.

The figure suddenly spoke. "Are you alright?" The voice sounded soft and quiet, it was a woman. Looking back at the figures face, not entirely sure if I should trust her or not. Her face was quite faint, but recognizable since she was close enough for me to get a good look. She had long blonde hair that was fixed into a low bun, her eyes were deep blue and a smile just like my mothers. She was dressed in blue scrubs, that was covered in some sort of white coat.I couldn't quite put my finger on anything else because again it was quite faint. I felt hands grab my own, lifting me back onto where I was before, she was strong. Staying alert, I kept a close eye on her and watched every move she made. I see her kneel in front of me, grabbing my hands she opened her mouth to speak.

"Do you remember why you're here?" She asked softly.

I frowned, my eyebrows scrunched together. "Why should I tell you anything? I don't even know you." I snapped back.

"Athena." Looking at her with confusion I pulled my hands away from her grip. How does she know my name. With a sigh she continued on. "I am your doctor, Athena. It's my job to help you. I know it might seem confusing at first, but you have to trust me on this and talk. Ok?"

Docter. Doctor. Doctor? That word, it continued to replay in my thoughts. Where am I really? I was lost in thought until her voice broke through and snapped me out of my trance.

"Athena. Listen. Do you remember anything?" I can feel her eyes looking straight at me, waiting for an answer that I didn't have. Concentrating, I tried to remember what happened. I stuck my tongue out and bit on it, as I usually do when I'm trying to focus. I hear her giggle.

"What's so funny?" I asked, trying to make it clear that I was quite irritated by her.

I hear her clearing her throat, then she continued. "Nothing." There was a pause. Raising one eyebrow at her, I find her very suspicious. I bet she's the one who brought me here, meaning that she can answer my questions.

Sighing, I look back straight into her eyes. "Where am I? Who are you? What happened to me?"

I relax, breathe in and push away the strange uneasiness in my stomach and took back her hands, holding them. I put on a straight face to show her that I was serious and determined to know. Her smile broke and faded into a frown, eyes fall to the floor and silence surrounded the room.

"You really don't remember?" She said quietly. I shook my head, I was starting to worry. Something was definitely wrong, the uneasy feeling that I put aside was back. I was so nervous that I felt like I was going to throw up, right here, right now, but I refrained from doing so. "Athena. Sweetie." Her pause, frightened me. My hands started to shake and I felt her squeeze it slightly. "Well." She kept hesitating. "You were in a car accident."

My head started to pound, trying to process what she had just said. I was in a car accident? When? How did it happen? The pain in my head grew worse and worse. Putting my hands to my temples, trying to ease the torture I was in. Nothing worked, until the darkness greeted me once more and everything was swallowed by the shadows.

I gripped my picture, afraid to look out the window, afraid to know what's going to happen. Setting those fears aside my eyes darted from my parents to the window and in a flash everything went wrong. Watching a car, heading in a fast speed towards us. It slams right into the side of the car, where my parents had been sitting. My parents.

I woke up to the sound of someone calling my name, it was as if I was called from a distance. The voice gradually becoming louder and louder, coming closer every time it said my name. I opened my eyes, flinching as I saw that I was greeted by a pair of blue eyes.

"Athena. Athena, are you alright?" She said in a worried tone.

I sat up, rubbing the temples of my head. My head was still pounding ,but not as painful as it was before. "What happened?" I asked barely above a whisper.

"You fainted." She paused. "After I told you why you were here." She said softly.m

Why was I here? Suddenly, all my missing memories flooded back and was put back in place. The moving, the car trip, the accident, and my parents. My parents, where are my parents? They were in the accident too, that means that they are here, in what I'm guessing would be a hospital. Are they alright? Can I see them? New questions were starting to fill my head. I shook it off and turned to the doctor.

"My parents. Can I please see my parents?" I said worriedly. She didn't respond and my worry turned into fear. What if... no. My parents are fine because doctors are lifesavers, they are miracle workers. Right?

Her face fell, she wasn't looking at me anymore, now she was looking at the floor. She took my hands, but I moved them away. "I really wish I could tell you that they're alright, but.." My heart sank as she spoke, it seemed to me like all hope was gone. She kept hesitating, I'm going to guess that she's trying to find a way to tell me the news without upsetting me, but nevertheless that possibility was not an option anymore. "We did everything we could to save them, trust me we did." My heart sank and the tears that I tried I hold back were now falling freely down my cheeks, as I was trying to let her words sink in. I felt a hand on my back, turning around I wrapped into an embrace, I buried my head in the crook of her neck and continued to sob. A few minutes later, I started to relax, gradually my eyes started to fall and I drifted off to sleep.

Hearing someone call my name, I opened my eyes. I notice that I was laying back down on the bed, I sat up. Yawning, I rubbed my eyes. The fact that I kept being woken up irritates me, I mean come on people, I'm a teenage girl. I need my sleep.
