Athan's P.O.V

My phone starts ringing,I grab it out of my pocket and swipe the green button."Hello?", my beta Carter starts talking."Alpha,we had a rouge attack,your little brother Tristan was injured,please come to our pack hospital immediately". "Okay I'll be there soon". I hang up my phone,Ava looks at me,"What was that about?". I look at her, "My brother was attacked by some crazy guy,so I have to go to the hospital". "You can't go out there,you'll freeze" She says,standing up,facing me.I shake my head,"I'll be fine", I pull on my coat.She walks over to the door and use her arms to block it.She shakes her head."No,you can't". I sighs,"I have to". She stays put until I try to move her,she pushes me off of her."I'm not letting you go out there and die" She says firmly."Just......ughh........let me go" I say."You don't understand" I say.She suddenly gets angry."I'M NOT LETTING YOU GO OUT THERE BY YOURSELF JUST TO DIE ON THE SIDE OF THE ROAD" She yells."I HAVE TO GO HE'S MY BROTHER" I yell back."I UNDERSTAND BUT WAIT UNTIL IT GETS WARMER" She yells."NO I CAN'T I JUST-.............UGH.........LET ME GO YOU DON'T UNDERSTAND YOUR BROTHER'S DEAD,YOU WOULDN'T GET IT" I yell angrily.She looks at me in shock and anger.Silence...........that's it."fine,you go and get yourself killed,I'll be heading to my friend Kelsy's house now" She whispers,cold venom seeping through her words.She walks over to the coat rack and grabs her black jacket.She pulls it around her before zipping it up and putting on the hood."Wait I-" She glares at me."Don't,don't you dare" She says and opens the door.She slams it behind her before I let out a groan of frustration.*Great job idiot,you just sent her to her death.....again* Cole mocks me."Oh shut up!" I say.*Don't yell at me,you're the one who mocked her brothers death*."I didn't mock her,I just kinda....you know......ugh I just meant that he's not alive and probably hasn't had this happen to him,but she took it all wrong". *Ughh,just go find her,and don't hit her with the car,as a matter of fact just don't go near cars*. I groan "You're never gonna get over that are you?". He shakes his furry head then disappears.I sigh before zipping up up my coat and tightening my beanie."I've gotta find her" I say,before something bad happens.I open the door and slip outside.It's freezing.I look for footprints but the snow has covered them.I rub my hands together and blow on them to try to keep 'em warm.I walk up the steps to a house,and knock.A short woman answers."Can I help you?" she asks,a slight french accent seeping through."I-I'm looking for a girl named Ava,with brown hair and she's about as tall as my shoulder" I say.She gasps,"Ava's back?". I nod,where was she? "I'm sorry,but I haven't seen her,tell her,if you find her,to come see Ms.Valende" she says,and then smiles as well as closes the door.I shiver and sigh,Come on Ava.I walk to another house.This time a tall guy with brown hair and a slight shadow of a beard answers."Hi,I'm looking for a girl named Ava-sh". "AVA! She's back?" he exclaims.I nod."No sorry haven't seen her but-oh I know,we'll organize a party for that girl right here in my home,I'll call you later,bye!" he yells and shuts the door.What's up with these people and Ava?I shake my head before heading to another house,old short lady,Ava sightings,zero. House #4,nope,House #7,nope, House #14 nope,finally at house 24,I walk up the stairs to the smell of crayons and pie.*I smell her* Cole says."Wha-how do you know?" I ask.He smirks,*I've known where she was,I just wanted to make you pay for what you did to her*. "I guess,I deserved it" I say and he nods.I knock on the door,It opens,"Excuse me I'm looking for a girl with-".I look at the person."Ava!" I shout and try to hug her.She pulls back and I stumble inside."Yes?" she says,still angry.I sigh,"I've been looking for you everywhere,l-look I'm sorry about what I said okay?"She nods,"I know you are but that doesn't change the fact that you said it"I nod,"Well,let's go home okay?" I say,smiling hopefully.She shakes her head,"Sorry,I uh......just found an old friend".I look at her in confusion,an old friend? Suddenly a guy appears by her side.I mentally growl,another wolf.I sniff,he's Alpha Kathe from Suntail pack.He slightly nods,indicating that he knows about me."Athan meet Kathe,Kathe meet Athan" Ava says.We shake hands,I know the tension is thick in this room.One Alpha is never good,let alone 2.I wonder if she's his mate,I wonder if she's my mate? The only way we know if we are mates is if we tell her who and what we are.I don't know if I'm ready yet,or if she's ready.She's human,how bad can she be? *Don't underestimate humans* Cole reminds me.I nod."Uhh,come inside" Kathe says,pulling me in and closing the door.
